I'm not defending his mistakes or excusing him, just clarifying what he said. I did miss the updates of Frankfurt which you mentioned.

About Erin Robberts, I love the story behind Privateer 2 and I have not played his lego games but I've heard they are solid. It's why it's funny when you have Erin focus on the wing commander side while chris get's the privateer side. The part of cronyism is debatable, but Erin has stuff under his belt to show something, and fyi his branch did pop out the racing sim.

You're getting to invested in this and accusing me almost like derrek smart. Like you said, you cannot take him seriously but your presenting yourself as though you do.

I just do not want to make him the devil when I've seen far worse behavior by developers.

Thank you for clarifying that, your previous comments did not make your own position clear. I take back the smarmy comments aimed at you.

The fact is, Derek Smart is on a hypocritical personal vendetta and is misrepresenting things and altogether making other shit up out of nowhere. I didn't mention this in the SC megathread because I said I'm done talking about him and I am in there (and I would be entirely if News Node didn't see stories about his stupid ass every few days), but Wingman chimed in on the forums to mention that when he and Chris worked together at Origin Systems, they'd periodically get nasty letters from Derek accusing them of stealing his ideas. 20-some years later, nothing has changed.

His narcissism consumes him and it's what's damned him to being a fifth-rate developer with an engine stuck in 2002 at best. And it's sad because he evidently cares a lot about what he does, and he does most of the work himself--I respect that, even though I have no interest in purchasing or playing his games. He's a self-made developer, just not a very good one.

But he is going out of his way to throw everything he can find in his diaper at a project that is doing everything he dreamed of but failed to achieve. Here's Derek's endgame, because he's so into himself he can't help but reveal his plan to us like some sort of cartoon villain:

And now that he's been refunded and his standing has been denied, he's screaming about how they're censoring him and took personal revenge on him in some sort of vast conspiracy to silence the truth. You may have noticed that Derek projects a lot.
