uhhhoooohherrrrrr
what's your reasoning behind those particular things
-demoknights are bad for game balance
-knockback effect is annoying and overpowered
-same (I think, never heard of this one before)
-performance, some of them are unoptimized and lag, all are annoying
-don't fit the art style at all
Oh right, I forgot, it's fucking F2P now too!
who cares

-fine
-what knockback
-what knockback (you've never heard of it? you just chose an item at random to not like?)
-annoying, fine, everything else makes no sense
-almost nothing fits the art style anymore. in the beginning there was a very clearly defined cartoon violence 60s spy movie aesthetic to TF2, and some things initially (and recently) introduced are still obviously designed that way, but the vast majority of hats and weapons and whatever else are just thrown in without regard.
your idea for "non shit mode" makes no sense because it seems like you arbitrarily chose only a few things you don't like about the game instead of carving away all the rotten stuff and getting at the core of what the game should (or used to) be

Hey now, I was just explaining the rationale for that other user's post, I don't necessarily believe all or any of these things. I didn't mention the tomislav, he did. Get your users right man.
ah
okay then, top half of the post is addressed to ardosos, bottom half to twoski

That's still not me. I suggested a "nostalgia mode" where I chose everything except the default weapons and the nine original hats to be excluded. "Non shit mode" was, yet again, a different users idea.
It's up to the community, then. I can think of exactly zero reasons Valve should include a mode that, essentially, nullifies everything they've done in the past 4 or so years. (Excluding bugfixes, because I know some asshole is gonna point that out.)

I think a lot of people want this in the game

I can see a reason, valve know they've appealed to a different type of community by changing tf2 and thus lost players, and could easily regain them without losses by adding such a gamemode which is probably in high demand for quite a few people. Your belief that it devalues 4 years work rests on the assumption that once the mode comes out, noone is going to play on a vanilla server and everyone will flock to the nostalgia mode servers, which wouldn't be the case. In fact i'd imagine they'd be quite uncommon, but they'd still be there.
Of course they've lost players. Every time a developer makes a content update they're going to lose players. In my opinion, if the vast majority of server owners decided to run a 'classic' type, the number of players would drop more. After having been able to use such a wide variety of weapons, I can't see how people would enjoy always playing with the tiny number of choices TF2 shipped with.

The nine original hats aren't nostalgia at all.
A bunch of weapons came before those.

Yeah, fuck the minority they don't matter at all!
Except the vast majority wouldn't do that and your insinuation that they would is just dumb.
I'd bet the amount of people who want a "the way it used to be" mode are bigger in number than you think.
Why would I want less choices? Because it was simple an to the fucking point. Everyone had the exact same thing, everything was the same. I knew just by looking at someone that they were on an even keel with me (equipment wise at least). Now? It's just a cluster fuck of shit. I listened to the developer commentary when it first came out and I was like "wow the decisions they made made a lot of sense", however it seems Valve forgot what they said in those commentaries.
I'm all for new content, but this is not what I fucking imagined it would be when I bought the game. And I firmly believe they took it in the totally wrong direction.
Trading and hats ruined the community and I wish they were never added
No, more weapons makes it fun.
I was attacking a turtling engineer while playing demoman on turbine. I launched a few stickies into his turret area. Now, a good engie would shoot them to destroy them, however that needs to be done one at a time. In vanilla tf2 thats how it'd work. Then I watch in horror as the engie pulls out the short circuit and fries all my stickies. I had to now work around this lack of projectiles when attacking his sentry. If that was vanilla tf2, he couldn't do shit about the onslaught of stickies I was launching at him. It'd be boring.
Then get someone to do it. It's a Source game. There's going to be a way to limit the weapon choices down to the original selection. Get a group together, start a server or two, and see if you can get people to join up. It would probably take less time and effort to write up a classic gamemode than it does to complain that Valve won't do it for you.
(You doesn't mean chunkymonkey, by the way, more like 'them.')

because in vanilla the point was that you had a team to stop the demoman planting stickies. Every class wasn't meant to be able to do everything itself.

Its kinda hypocritical to claim that a system ruined a game when you yourself have used it in an intended way.
so everyone has all the weapons and maybe a hat or so, so they can enjoy the game more?
That I am fine with because making easier for people who don't have the time or the money to obtain those items is a good thing. However, what I don't like is when someone uses the system to their advantage while criticizing it. Its no different then when some Tea Party person talks about how much they hate Medicare and Social Security while directly benefiting from it.
To take it one step father arguably Wootman has grown Trading/Hats by creating this thread and encouraging behaviors that Valve then sees as the go ahead to expand Trading/Hats to keep the momentum going to grow the community.
