included a Steam user’s billing address, the last four digits of their Steam Guard phone number, their purchase history, the last two digits of their credit card number, and/or their email address.
did not include full credit card numbers, user passwords, or enough data to allow logging in as or completing a transaction as another user.

Amazed that people are still making a big deal about this. Yes it was a shit thing to happen but other than the billing address literally nothing happened out of the ordinary. Good thing I don't store any of my personal info on steam or anywhere because it takes literally 2 seconds to type in if i buy something
Lol, I recall them patching it within 40 minutes of the Sensationalist Headlines thread being posted, not an hour, unless the bug was going on long before the thread was posted in which case how can we expect Steam to know instantly? I also keep seeing people say it took over an hour and that's just a straight up lie, stop exaggerating. I don't really know what people expected. That they would know instantly that the bug was happening and that they could shut if off instantly? Even if they didn't spot it instantly maybe they took a bit too long, sure, but for something as big as Steam maybe it's not easy to update the servers instantly as well?

Lol, Microsoft has around 120 000 employees, Valve is stuck at 300 for the last ten years.

Nah everything is fine, the Steam support is great and there is never anything bad happening because very user is responsible for their own account.

I think he meant Microsoft's gaming parts, but even still there's a difference. That said, Steam definitely should have more than fucking 300 employees, especially since they themselves have said how much they dislike outsourcing.
Their support has been a joke for so many years now, even though they pretty much annually promise to make it better.

The improvement this year was the new account support site
Refunds galore
Only the first critical step in actually becoming something damn useful

Thank You for proving my point 300 is a joke for the size of the likes of Steam it should be at least 50,000 or more at this point ( and yea I mean't Microsoft gaming )
