Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate Generation Terabyte
Nice name
Good luck plugging it near other USB ports (which often are grouped) or in a non-plain surface (like the back of a PC, where a lot of USB ports usually are)
Extensions exist, but iirc they slow speeds down a lot unless they've improved.
Extension cables wouldn't slow down your device unless you're using one that's unreasonably long, or unreasonably cheap in quality and price. Even those $1 cables you buy on eBay are fine for most of the times.
Then I've only owned shit ones :v:
Extensions exist, but iirc they slow speeds down a lot unless they've improved.
Feels to me like missing the point of a flash drive if you're going to need a cable to plug it in, tho
Feels to me like missing the point of a flash drive if you're going to need a cable to plug it in, tho
yeah but its nice to have one attached to your monitor so you can like, plug it in up there instead of going to the back of your tower (Depending on lay out of everything)
As someone who can remember 128/256 MB flash drives, I'm still getting used to the idea of 128 GB micro SD cards. What do you even need 2TB of portable space for? I'd be worried about losing it to be honest.
I can't wait for the day we fit 1tb into something roughly this sized [t]http://img.banggood.com/images/upload/2012/jiangjunchao/SKU100398-2.JPG[/T] These little suckers are great for secondary storage on netbooks and cloudbooks and such
Feels to me like missing the point of a flash drive if you're going to need a cable to plug it in, tho
points of a flash drive: - holds files - fits in your pocket - plugs into computer if for some reason the computer you want to plug into doesn't have a USB port with a wide enough berth for that fat body (due to adjacent plugs being taken up already, or the frame of the computer is in the way), this will also fit in your pocket and fix the issue. I'm sure the inconvenience of an extra bit to tote is worth it if you're carrying around a 2tb drive
2tb badusb payloads. Imagine.

Look at this bulky fucking thing It looks like a fat dog

Mainly it's just waiting for Samsung to shrink and refine their 3D NAND, give it about 5 years and we'll see 1TB MicroSD cards, Intel and SandDisk might hit 1TB a bit sooner with 3D XPoint though.

I really want this, but I'm afraid for what that price tag will be when it drops. Definitely looking at a black friday sale.
WD owns Sandisk though.
Yup, and [del]SanDisk uses Micron/IM/Intel's NAND.[/del] And sometimes Toshiba's and others. Wording was a bit bad, meant that Samsung will hit 1TB MicroSDXC, ~5 years; but Intel/IM/SanDisk might hit it sooner because of 3d XPoint.
Ah yeah, makes more sense now
I really want this, but I'm afraid for what that price tag will be when it drops. Definitely looking at a black friday sale.
Kingston themselves said expect it to be over $1000. Don't think any sales will be dropping that price anytime soon
Kingston themselves said expect it to be over $1000. Don't think any sales will be dropping that price anytime soon
Welp, nevermind.
Kingston themselves said expect it to be over $1000. Don't think any sales will be dropping that price anytime soon
So what you're saying is be looking for pricing errors.
Kingston themselves said expect it to be over $1000. Don't think any sales will be dropping that price anytime soon
Give it two or three years and it'll probably be around $100
