Programming tricks that might've been compatible with the Xbox 360 are not guaranteed to be compatible with Nvidia, AMD, or Intel PC hardware, or the countless number of drivers available for them.

I'm not trying to defend Phil here, but to the people saying that it would have all been fine if he hadn't been a jerk, I disagree. If you make something people don't like, you will always get people telling you it sucks in some way or other. I know this because I've made a modding tool for a game before, and when I made a WIP thread for it no one had anything to do but criticise it [U]before they had even had a chance to use it[/U]. Now don't take me to be one of those people that can't take constructive criticism, because they did give it, but they suggested doing things that are way beyond what I could achieve, and what use is that? Time and again, people shat on me for trying to give out a program I'd spent a few of months on absolutely free. I was always sure to be polite in my responses and they were just as polite, but they just kept giving me flak, saying that what I'd made was deplorable in 100 different ways. Anyway I'll grant this was a forum post, so there was probably a bandwagon effect as soon as one of the popular uses started off with it. But If anyone seriously cares I can post a link to it, it's just embarassing though which is why I haven't already. Sorry for the blogpunch/woe is me/I'm entitled to your sympathy post...

Must be why I liked the game.[/QUOTE] theres a flash puzzle/platformer game that was made before fez with the EXACT 3D rotation mechanic that fez has, and the overall game is better than fez as well (+ its free), so fez did not in fact innovate or even be the first one to come up with the whole 3D rotation gimmick i forgot what the name of it was, but i remember it having armor games in the beginning credits still, take the 3D rotation away and what has fez 'innovated' in? pretty much fucking nothing

I'm sure you think it's all about jumping around from platform to platform and nothing else, but at least give half a shit before you form your own opinion about a game. I am not kidding when I say that FEZ delivered some serious headaches in the later states. The kind of puzzles where you need a pen and paper to decipher them. You have no idea.

i'll just go out and say that I really don't see anything unusual about his behaviour the internet is full of people like that, hell the world's full of utter dickbags, it's just that these dickbags aren't normally in the public eye since they're just dickbags and they don't make anything that makes them an authority to any kind of people outside of their immediate surrounding circle of dickbags, Fish was just as much of a dickbag as the majority of people you'd find in a place like /v/ or some parts of FP, except he also made a game that absolute buttloads of people were interested in which made him an authority and thus stuff he said was being taken differently, but he didn't bother pretending to be a polite person - he had things to say, he said them and he didn't bother being politically correct and pretending that the internet isn't full of dickbags and morons that rival or outmatch him

What game developer would cancel their project all because they got insulted? If Infinity Ward had decided to cancelled their Call of Duty game all because of someone criticising them, we would never see the game series be popular.
