Peaked at MW1. The story in MW2 was garbage and the multiplayer was unbalanced as fuck, it also had shit maps.
popular opinion thinks it was mw2 but i agree with you that it was mw1.

can't wait to see another 75% off
Honestly, Infinity Ward better have back-up or i'm expecting this to be a throwaway title like Ghosts was. Sledgehammer helped them with that, probably on the multiplayer side of things, and surprise surprise, Sledgehammer went on to make Advanced Warfare which was one of the better-received games in a while thanks to the new mobility and weapons significantly changing how the game plays (despite yet another gimmicky, cookie-cutter cinematic campaign). Meanwhile all the main talent is off at Respawn working on Titanfall 2. But then if the new Infinity Ward makes another shitty installment in the series (I swear to god if it's Ghosts 2..), it might be a wake-up call for Activision and gamers alike.

It's still my most played Call of Duty game in terms of hours.

Wait, did PCGamesN just make a snarky remark? GUYS IT'S LEARNING THAT HUMOR EXISTS!
MW2 didn't have shit maps, but it was certainly the last CoD game to not have shit maps imo
Not all the maps were shit. I just mean that compared to MW1 it had a much larger quantity of shit maps. The only shit maps in MW1 were Bog and Shipment, MW2 had Underpass, Skidrow, Rust, and Highrise. The later games do have worse maps overall, but MW2 was the start of their quantity over quality design.

i disagree, bo1 and 2 had great map design that worked pretty well around leaning and dolphin diving of course, it still came with the classical camping spots, but if you were spergy enough like me you learned the maps fast enough
What was wrong with Skidrow and Highrise?
Skidrow was unbalanced as fuck, one team started in the buildings and the other started down by some shipping containers, whoever was in the buildings got free shots at people who had piss all cover. Highrise was too open, aside from the raised helipad in the middle there was almost nothing obstructing the view of one side of the map from the other. It usually just turned into a slaughter out in the middle, or the teams would constantly get in behind each other causing the spawns to switch constantly. That said I primarily played Domination and Search and Destroy so they might have been better on other modes.
Plot twist: It is WWI and single player only.
I'm just wondering why everyone seem to be screaming for WW2. I think that period was really done to death and newer graphics don't make a return to that time more appealing. I'm also not a fan of the future stuff. I think we need more games covering the times of BO1 to today. So about 60's to 2016. Although I played MW2 MP the most the SP started to get too "cool". I like the more serious, grounded but with it's epic moments feel of MW1. Personally, I'd love a CoD game where you start from WW2 and with couple of missions at a time you would progress all the way to near future with the exo-suits and other gadgets. Then you could have MP where you could run around in exo-suit firing a Thompson.
I'm just wondering why everyone seem to be screaming for WW2. I think that period was really done to death and newer graphics don't make a return to that time more appealing.
WW2 never was done to death, only some parts of it. The games we had about that period were only focusing on USA/USSR/UK vs Germany/Japan. There's a lot of interesting stuff that's never (or almost never) been explored before, some examples : Battle of the Atlantic, the Italian and African fronts,Invasion of Poland, Battle of France, etc... On another hand, if would be better to have a game set during the Korean War, Indochina War, or even WW1, yes.
Maybe they'll delve into alternate history would be neat to see CoD: Wolfenstein
What was wrong with Skidrow and Highrise?
I honestly can't even remember Skidrow but Highrise was one of the most hated maps. Wide open no cover middle while the inside was full of light cover that could just be spammed through with FMJ which gave virtually every gun insane wall penetration. [editline]16th February 2016[/editline] There was a map just like it in Advanced Warfare and people hated it too :v:

i wish the whole futuristic theme going on lately would just go off the hinges and it becomes something comparable to mass effect in aesthetic and setting.

I hope it isn't some pseudo sci fi shitfest like Black Ops 2 forward. [editline]17th February 2016[/editline] Go back to 'Nam or something.

[editline]17th February 2016[/editline] Go back to 'Nam or something.
Call of Duty: Medieval Warfare when From what I've noticed, Infinity Ward is better at dumb, stupid, fun over-the-top shit than they are at realism, so something like that would be way more up their alley. If we're going back in time, I want Treyarch handling it.
you didn't play the new order?
wasn't really ww2 plus i wasn't much of a fan of it
