Why is built in speakers still a common feature? Does anyone actually use them?

I have plenty of friends who only game on the pc and use headphones 99.9% of the time, so buying speakers doesn't make much sense for the 1 time you want to play something aloud.

I sometimes use the built in speakers to throw a single program on that I don't want to be on headphones or at main speaker volume.

I wish it would stop because the speaker I have in one of my monitors broke and makes a sound similar to that randomly unless I keep it off permanently
its like, even if you have the best quality monitor, the speakers they have in it are always shit. Even cheap walmart throwaway speakers are better.

I only use headphones anyways but holy fuck its LOUD
both 27-inch and 24.5 inch are 1920x1080 rather than 21.5 in or..?
no bezels for you guys who are distracted by them, to go along with your massive distracting red bar at the bottom!
Seems like older monitors put in a new frame and sold for a premium.
They don't really seem any special, specs are meh.
Similar 24", 144Hz screens go for 80-100 bucks less.
And that 27" still being 1080p is pretty bad, 24" is sorta the max I would go with 1080p.
Also kinda funny thing is that AOC never had big borders on their monitors.
I got an old AOC 2269W which is almost the same design but with a silver bar, the bezels are about half as thick as on my BenQ XL2411.
Guess with two you still get a bigger bezel, which they would reduce even more, but for some reason their selling point felt pretty familiar.
We are using a similar thing in our simulators, it's nice.

i always figured the lack of bezels was more for a smooth transition to a second or third monitor

I had a Dell monitor with pretty nice integrated speakers a while back, but it was a top of the line monitor then.
Honestly bezels are my main criticism for anyone who does multi-monitor and is the sole reason I always thought of it as a dumb and pointless gimmick feature for anything that wasn't separate applications being used at the same time.
