It should use SteamGuard, they have a secure system which sends codes that no one but you can see. Why all this captcha bullshit?
That would take even longer than filling out a captcha, unless you have trouble reading captchas.
R.I.P. TrashBot.
Wouldn't this also kill sites like scrap.tf?
Wouldn't this also kill sites like scrap.tf?
iirc Valve can add specific steamids to the exclude list.
iirc Valve can add specific steamids to the exclude list.
Apparently its not even a whitelist...
<Drunken_F00l> we know the current situation sucks for new bots. we have some ideas. we don't know what will happen for sure. <Drunken_F00l> there's not really a whitelist <Drunken_F00l> after a certain number of trades, we don't require the captcha
and
<VoiDeD> mang he already said there are other solutions in progress <McKay> HL3 is also "in progress"
:v:
I think that they should add an option to require people to put in a steam guard code to be able to trade specific item rarities and qualities that the steam user sets. A user may determine that mythical or unusual items will require a steam guard code to protect them from being traded. This would stop people losing their items from the steam stealer malware since it would not be able to trade entire inventories but instead would only be able to get the items that are considered 'low value' to the user. I also reckon that people should be able to individually tag items so that they require a steam guard code to be traded to protect that item if it is really valuable to them. For example, I have a unusual fearless badger courier for Dota 2 that I have named 'Glorious Leader Bader' that is my most valuable item that I would want to protect considering it is worth around $180 due to the gems that it has (ethereal flame and prismatic gold).

It's not about reducing the damage, it's stopping the issue
I think they should just add customer support, so if for some reason you lose an item they'll give it back to you! There has to be a system and/or history to find who you traded with, etc. etc.
If you fall for a scam trick you deserve it and your stupid ass items deserve to be taken from you.
I'm getting really sick of captcha. Something needs to replace it.
Be more secure and doesn't fuck over people wanting to make automated services though.
But the spam shit could just automate that process too.
But the spam shit could just automate that process too.
How can it automate getting a code from your email?
lmao steam having customer support hl3 will come before that
Valve would be the best job creators in India if they wanted to handle all the idiot trade complaints.
Whaling these can be pretty fun. There already ones around that bypass the captchas.
How can it automate getting a code from your email?
I am stupid.
Retinal scans coming 2017.
prostate ultrasound scans 2018
They just switched to reCAPTCHA, it seems.
Atleast I don't have to hit reload 30 times until I get one I have a snowball's chance in hell to get fucking correct The one for Facepunch? It's impossible. If I ever need to change my password I'm fucked
I've never, ever had a problem with any kind of captcha, yeah they're hard to see sometimes but I always get them right on my first try. I guess I'm just lucky.
considering all the fucking hoops you need to jump through to actually use the market steam is more secure than a fucking bank
You mean the new type of reCaptcha, cuz the old one was 70-80% cracked by several posting bots.
It still falls under the reCAPTCHA service.
lmao steam having customer support hl3 will come before that
I constantly hear that Origin/EA's support is one of the best game support services out there. :suicide:
I constantly hear that Origin/EA's support is one of the best game support services out there. :suicide:
Why? Because it exists? That's not very much of a win at all.
Why? Because it exists? That's not very much of a win at all.
they're actually good. i downloaded a game only for it to keep crashing even though it could have run really good on my system (battlefield 2) and they revoked the game and refunded me within an hour. steam would have just said "fuck off" and left me hanging
