Translation: Our engine can't handle it/We don't know how to do it.
Yes I'm so sure a company with a billion dollar Franchise can't make destructible environments in the engine they have been working with and improving for 10 years now. Look at CoD 1 and Look at Ghosts. The engine has come a LONG way. If they wanted to add some destructible environments that would server no practical use on tiny ass maps they would.
How is making a map completely different not interesting? Fighting in the ruins of a town can be very fun.
no cover, nowhere to hide, now the game's just a matter of who has the best 'one hit kill' weapon and that's no fun
i'm okay with this, call of duty was never about fully destructive maps. i go to battlefield for that and the vehicle gameplay. i go to call of duty frantic, arena based hooting. pretty simple.

I don't like his tone, feels like he's kind of slagging off destructible terrain, but it's kind of true. Destructible terrain isn't the holy grail of game design, it's just another mechanic.
To be fair, Destructible Environments are boring as all hell and the only time it's been fun is in Red Faction, when the whole game was built around fucking burrowing through the map or blowing the hell out of it
Fuck off, Mark Rubin. The entire Call of Duty series is 'not very interesting'
The Red Faction Guerrilla multiplayer maps were ridiculously fun to fight in, I consider it one of the best MP games I've played. I imagined GTA style cities with RFG style destruction, and the glory of collapsing sky scrapers into each other in 64 player matches with splosions and helicopter building collisions and tank columns on bridges and bjfhdhrhbj they made Armageddon which was appalling and killed the entire series forever. Thanks lads. There go the dreams.
