does the steam version require uplay?
It's Ubi's corporate policy that all their internal games have to use Uplay.
"Pre-Purchase now and receive the Blume Agent Pack* which includes a Blume Agent Outfit and Blume Weapon Perk that gives weapons less recoil." Yay, now I can get an advantage in-game if i pre-order!
Man, fuck the title being Watch_Dogs™ instead of just Watch Dogs. Two things I hate in one! Dumb underscores and ™ logos.
Fairly certain the underscore is copyright bullshit, but the ™ is just Ubisoft being Ubisoft. I mean come the fuck on That's not how it works. [editline]5th April 2014[/editline]
Pre-ordering is rarely worth it. It's a gamble where you save 10€ at best and waste 60 at worst.
I feel like I haven't ever preordered a bad game. The worst I'd ever done was preordering Red Dead Redemption, and that's just because I didn't like the way John Marston talked like he had a pack of cigarettes in his throat
Ta Ubisoft.
Man, fuck the title being Watch_Dogs™ instead of just Watch Dogs. Two things I hate in one! Dumb underscores and ™ logos.
it's not a big deal
it's not a big deal
Did he say it was? I'm annoyed by it too, but it's not more than a slight annoyance at worst.
Did he say it was? I'm annoyed by it too, but it's not more than a slight annoyance at worst.
there's no need to be stressed out over two digital characters that will have zero effect over how this game will be played.
I feel like the game won't live up to its hype
Here's to hoping it won't suck. I've been looking forward to this release.
The response that instantly came into my head from the title was: 'No.'
So what is with it not being avaliable to view from britistan?
Wasn't everyone hyped as fuck for this like, 2 months ago? What's with the sudden dislike?
Wasn't everyone hyped as fuck for this like, 2 months ago? What's with the sudden dislike?
Because the game appears to be hella unoptimized according to the recommended specs. That's not acceptable regardless of how good a game is.
... I feel like I haven't ever preordered a bad game. The worst I'd ever done was preordering Red Dead Redemption, and that's just because I didn't like the way John Marston talked like he had a pack of cigarettes in his throat
I've bought more bad games based on good reviews than I have bad pre-orders, so lets hope that holds true with Watch Dogs. Because I saved up and pre-ordered the DEDSEC edition, got a statue!
now that the game has some spotlight in the mainstream and people are talking about it more its time to start up the "make a game's hype relevant to its' quality" machine.
Because the game appears to be hella unoptimized according to the recommended specs. That's not acceptable regardless of how good a game is.
Pretty sure 99% of people not excited about the game already made up their mind before those specs were revealed. All because the graphics supposedly got downgraded, which, I don't believe they did for the PC version judging by those requirements. [editline]6th April 2014[/editline] But graphics over gameplay am I right?
Have people forgotten the demo at E3 was the PC version? I'm not surprised the recommended settings are that high.
A guy that has a few friends in Ubisoft (apparently, I can't confirm this) got to play the earlier builds of the game and it was apparently way better than the current build of the game. They're scrapping and re-making a lot of the stuff they did for the PC version so the next-gen console could run the actual game. I'm not hyped anymore.
How about indtead of going boo they lied to us , its downgraded! We just wait till its released? No one is forcing you to buy it
How about indtead of going boo they lied to us , its downgraded! We just wait till its released?
I hate that Ubisoft charges $60 for PC games
What about the countless other publisher who sell games for $60? It is the average MSRP for a game these days, this isn't new news.
They haven't shown any PC videos since the 2012 E3 gameplay video though, all the recent videos were from the console versions, no wonder they looked like shit.
What about the countless other publisher who sell games for $60? It is the average MSRP for a game these days, this isn't new news.
Just because it isn't news doesn't mean it doesn't suck massive balls.
Just because it isn't news doesn't mean it doesn't suck massive balls.
I never said it didn't. I never pay 60 dollars for a game. My point was it's not just Ubisoft.
The thing behind the 'graphical downgrade' controversy killing part of the hype train around this game (since it's pretty clear the hacking systems were never going to be all that complex and the game seems like vigilante GTA otherwise), is that Ubisoft could easy quell the controversy by simply showing a PC trailer, or at the very least answering questions on whether the graphics for next-gen/PC weren't actually downgraded. Ubisoft instead skirts around the questions with PR speak and then shows trailers about VR minigames a week later, which is the kind of question avoidance that's had significant precedents in gaming before. Not to say the minigames are a bad thing, but it kinda feels like it was brought up so close to the game's release to try and take attention off the issue. And gameplay may be over graphics in priority, but when your game is one of, if not the first next-gen games demonstrated with a big deal made about the advanced graphics and everything, if the final product for PS4/X1/PC ultimately gets downgraded to more current-gen standards and no one really confirms or says anything until the game's launch day, then it's a huge problem that could be considered exploitation of the hype. But this is just me talking here from what I've seen so far of it all.
anyone know when it will be available in the UK?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think I'll pre-order but I wouldn't trust "a guy who knows a guy" enough to be preemptively sad by a release that hasn't happened yet.

I'd hate it if they wasted their money. Either way, the guy who posted this hearsay was the co-owner of the forum I was on, he's pretty trustworthy, unless he's actually willing to stir shit up on his own fairly popular forum. Judging by the recent videos about this game, I think the theory is more than feasible.
