no not any good. i h8 this game.
it's a scam when you're paying for a game that is filled entirely with lifeless set pieces with little to no interaction that consists of a little invisible line that when stepped over triggers a voice over. you are literally playing something with less developmental input than a valve developer commentary level. and you're paying money for that.
Dude, the game's gonna be like 8 dollars. I'm also paying for the dialog and the narraration. I enjoyed the first Stanely Parable make, enough to want to spend money on a sequel. Besides, did you even play the fucking demo? Did the mapping, music, voice acting, modeling, and texture work slip you by? People pay more money for worse games, as far as I'm concerned, this game is worth whatever trivial amount they sell it for. Also, you said you bought and enjoyed Dead Space 3?
yes because believe it or not dead space 3 actually had some content it had really fun gameplay that was improved over the last two games and the only thing people hate is that it wasn't scary and didn't have a very good story, but it was a passable b-grade horror plot that serviced some really fun scenes so yes I enjoyed it.
Dude, Dead Space 3 is comparable to the transformers movies in terms of others opinions. You can enjoy it, there's nothing wrong with that, but as soon as you claim others cannot enjoy their own forms of entertainment, you look like a massive twat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interactive_fiction the stanley parable is basically the video game version of one of those "turn to page X if you want to do X or turn to page Y if you want to do Y" books we read as kids, I see nothing wrong with paying money for that if its well written and is clever (and the Stanley parable certainly is IMO)

It had a serious narration about the illusion of choices you have not only in video-games but in life itself. If you think this demo makes the full game justice, you're not seeing the full picture. But now even if you go play the first one you'll still feel a bitter taste about it anyway, just because of the demo, shame really.

I liked the demo, but I think it lacks substance.
interactive fiction only works when it's good fiction this whole thing just reeks of pretentiousness and obnoxiousness
in what way
by being unfunny and wasting my time and grand standing itself as some exciting experiment when its just a bunch of audio triggers and all you do is walk [editline]12th October 2013[/editline] imagine portal without any if the portals and significantly more meaningless dialogue u get this [editline]12th October 2013[/editline] the whole indie and experimental thing is a fast growing excuse to have zero gameplay and still expect to flog copies of your game because you are so avant guard
rusty chill the fuck out man people are allowed to like things that you don't like likewise, you're allowed to not like those things, but don't be a such a dick about it

It must be hard... Not having fun...
You do know the first one was free though, right?
I'm not talking about the first one though, am i [editline]12th October 2013[/editline]
It must be hard... Not having fun...
no I just have fun with better products

wow, u dont like playing with your literal feces that just came out of your bum? you must not know how to have fun!!
but you ARE being a dick because you're not saying "here is my opinion but I respect yours and your right to enjoy the Stanley Parable" you're saying "this game is shit and you're an idiot if you like it and I am right and you are wrong" you can have your opinion but don't parade it around trying to play it as an objective fact because that makes you a dick
but the game being completely bare bones is a demonstrable fact, not an opinion
this was a stupid waste of time. it wasn't funny or smart. satirizing video games in a bad and lifeless video game is not an achievement. walking around with a voice over barely just even qualifies as a video game. its feels on par with a valve developer commentary map [editline]12th October 2013[/editline] walk in area - trigger voice over it's not exciting, and that's all there is
Replace Raphael with Rusty
but the game being completely bare bones is a demonstrable fact, not an opinion
That doesn't make it bad, minimilism is a common form of game design, especially for smaller studios.
but the game being completely bare bones is a demonstrable fact, not an opinion
No shit? Liking something that's bare bones? That's an opinion
Replace Raphael with Rusty
I was literally just about to post this lol
but the game being completely bare bones is a demonstrable fact, not an opinion
except for the type of game that it is, it's not bare bones at all It doesn't have huge explosions or innovative gameplay mechanics but it has all the mechanics that make a narrative-driven game good. It's not supposed to be gameplay heavy, so it isn't, but that doesn't invalidate it as an experience just because you don't like games like that.
i just played the demo, it was terrible, utterly bored the whole way through wondering when it would end i agree with rusty 100% i honestly don't understand why people would pay money for this
the dialogue isn't interesting and all of it is just a buffer for what amounts to nothing a meta examination of things is hardly a new idea it wasn't funny and hahhaha non-standard gameplay, you mean the one where you can walk and occasionally push a big button? it's not like non-linear is a new concept either and the only thing this has going for it is the expensive narrator and it's a shame nothing he's actually saying is interesting or funny
you criticize it for being unfunny (too subjective to argue), featuring minimal gameplay (which is a part of the game being a tongue in cheek satire of games), and because a satirical analysis of things isn't a new or very original idea (even though this really hasn't been done before in the gaming medium). I can understand calling it pretentious and obnoxious as it's relatively experimental (for a game) and so can come off as pretentious- but saying the game consists of lifeless set pieces with little to no interaction is falling into the trap of expectations that the game plays it's humour and satire off.
but the game being completely bare bones is a demonstrable fact, not an opinion
Man you are really aggressive when it comes to opinions, you always act like your opinions to be facts. Like right now.
[sp]what happens if you try to leave the waiting room early? i'm too afraid to find out[/sp]
The first time, nothing. Not so sure about when you return, though.
Angry Rusty Goes to the Beach One day Angry Rusty decided to take a walk to the beach. He gazed along the shore, and watched the beach-goers playing in the sand and frolicking in the water. "How miserable," he thought. Angry Rusty looked at the volleyball players hitting the ball back and fourth over the net. The ball suddenly deflated mid air, and landed on the net where it hung limply. Then he passed some children enjoying their ice cream cones. From nowhere, a strong wind blew their scoops into the sand. Then the ice cream stand fell in the sand. Finally, he stopped in front a child and his father building a sand castle. A wave rushed up from the ocean and collapsed the castle into soggy sand. The boy's father also collapsed into soggy sand. Angry Rusty smiled. Today would be a good day.
I rather enjoyed the demo, was very intriguing and humorous. [sp]I actually tried to see if the uncomfortable in the demo dance actually worked[/sp]
