It always turns into this when he posts.
well done. Hope you like the outcome.
guys just report as trolling and move on
i was very impressed that they made special demos specifically for certain people, such as adam sessler and steam train, with special dialogue just for them. as a deconstruction of narrative linear games, i think theres a lot to appreciate from just the demonstration alone. bravo.

Not gonna have a good chance reporting a mod.

I think it really emphasized the fact that the narrator is talking to you, not Stanley.
or, the fact that Stanley is supposed to be you.

people report me on the site I work at all the time
[SP]I ignore them[/SP]

Hey
hey Rusty.
Bioshock Infinite was [sp]objectively bad[/sp]
So was [sp]Dead Space 3[/sp]
I've always wondered if rusty is this self righteous in real life.
brilliant, but it didn't have the silly freedom of choice that the original Stanley Parable had. I hope that's because it's just a demo :s
it's a scam when you're paying for a game that is filled entirely with lifeless set pieces with little to no interaction that consists of a little invisible line that when stepped over triggers a voice over. you are literally playing something with less developmental input than a valve developer commentary level.
and you're paying money for that.
Bioshock Infinite is a scam when you're paying for a game that is filled entirely with generic steampunkish set pieces with little to no player interaction that consists of a little invisible line that when stepped over triggers a "BOOKER, CATCH!". You are literally playing something with less developmental input than an actual game with a good story that you can't guess halfway through and gameplay not out of the early 2000s.
And you're paying $60 for that.
Oh and 1 ending.

Wow it's easy and almost fun to be a condescending asshole, I see how Rusty does it.
Sorry for shitting up the thread more.
you criticize it for being unfunny (too subjective to argue), featuring minimal gameplay (which is a part of the game being a tongue in cheek satire of games), and because a satirical analysis of things isn't a new or very original idea (even though this really hasn't been done before in the gaming medium).
I can understand calling it pretentious and obnoxious as it's relatively experimental (for a game) and so can come off as pretentious- but saying the game consists of lifeless set pieces with little to no interaction is falling into the trap of expectations that the game plays it's humour and satire off.
when will people realise that being satirical doesn't automatically make something good
you have to be better than the thing you're satirizing. which this isn't.

except you took my thing which was literally true and made one that isn't even slightly true at all so that does not work

Prove it "literally" then.
I dare you.
rusty bein' super euphoric ITT
Having had no exposure to the Stanley Parable before, I just want to say the narrator gave me a heavy Glados vibe.
The key difference, perhaps, being that the narrator wasn't as concerned with hiding how much he was a slave to his role as you are to yours.
Guys
stop liking this game
please
i'm not being a dick though i'm giving my negative opinion on a video game which i am entitled to do
the only way that can be construed as me being a dick is if you know what i'm saying is actually true and i ruined the game for you. it's not like you made the game, i'm not being a dick to you.
But you're not. It was fine at first when you talked about why you didn't like the game and while I personally didn't agree, that was a perfectly fine opinion.
But then you started running around being a dick to people for buying something they enjoy and actually liking something, trying to tout your "high and mighty" opinion as being fact.
You are entitled to an opinion, but you are acting like a dick just because people didn't agree with that opinion. You are being a dick. You are a prime example of being a dick. Stop being a dick, and learn to accept that some people will like something that you do not like, just as those people must learn to accept that you don't like what they like.
Guys

I found the Demo entertaining.
it also puts forth an interesting concept of rather than rehashing a press event demo, game developers should try to make the demo a unique experience by encapsulating the games mechanics and narrative style in a self contained box separate from the actual game while still basically being the same game.
IE, a small side story to the main game.

There's a difference between giving your opinion and loudly screaming "YOU ALL ARE OBJECTIVELY LITERALLY BEING RIPPED OFF BY THIS OBJECTIVELY UNFUNNY BARE-BONES HUSK OF A GAME. STOP BEING SHEEPLE BY PLAYING THIS AWFUL GAME THAT IS LITERALLY POORLY MADE BY IDIOTS THAT AREN'T FUNNY."
The difference between the two things is that in one option you're simply giving your opinion and in the other option you're acting like a gigantic fucklord. Can you guess which option is which?
dead space 3 sucked not because of the lack of scariness
it's the awkward insertion of john carver and the fucking backtracking which happens ALL THE TIMEsjdhs
it's only barely acceptable for the co-op shooter gameplay

Carver missions was the actual real dead space game. Rest of it was Call of Clarke: Zombie Hunter.
also plotholes galore
Type "facepunch" in-game
wow, u dont like playing with your literal feces that just came out of your bum? you must not know how to have fun!!
I don't know how you manage to stay conscious considering how high your horse is.
I think when Adam Sessler says this demo is rad then you should probably re-evaluate your stance or is he retarded now?
Carver missions was the actual real dead space game. Rest of it was Call of Clarke: Zombie Hunter.
why can they just make ellie the coop partner
it'd be cool to see a female rig armor instead of the [sp]love triangle sitcom[/sp] bullshit
rusty's age decreases by 6 months every time someone disagrees with him
it's fun to watch but if you're the one who sets him off it's not fun
Seriously though this is a very enjoyable game. I liked how[sp]instead of putting the mug in the bin you can put it on top of the rafters, which the narrator has his own reaction to.[/sp]
Also if you're quick enough during[sp]the flashbacks you can run to the brickwall and actually walk through it.[/sp]

I find it funny that in the singleplayer game Carver literally feels like a figment of your imagination

It's funny how that worked out. Like, they wanted him to be part of the story for some reason but still wanted it to be an isolated experience, so he would just pop up in cutscenes sometimes. He really had no significant bearing on the story.
