Dark Souls 3 PC will run at 60 fps, if you've the hardware for it
I wholeheartedly agree. But it was ONE of the many problems.
So many rooms off the beaten path that had so much time, effort, and detail put into them. It's certainly nice to think about (Jesus Christ those fucking lamps were godlike) but I'd rather wall off a room that a majority of players would likely run past and never see. Take the effort put into that room and give the game 5 more minutes of fun gameplay.
Who knows, wall off a few of those rooms, maybe they could have increased the frame rate and made the gunplay not suck as much, but now I'm getting into "what if" territory.
I don't think the framerate was much of a problem, I think the bigger problem was how one of the devs said that 30fps was better because it was more "cinematic". (IIRC)
If they hadn't said that, a lot less people would've cared about the games framerate.
The Uncharted games have always been 30, and UC4 will be 30 as well. People won't care because the stories are fantastic.
The Order on the other hand didn't really have a good story or good gameplay to distract the audience from it's flaws and the words of that dev. Graphically it's fantastic though from what I've seen.

Again, good graphics alone does not make a good game. It can certainly help to create a good game. I love Uncharted's scale and visual fidelity, it also helps it has a somewhat competent story and decent writing. I'd love it more if it could do all that and run at 60 fps, but I guess compromises do have to be made in some areas. I just wish we could get away from the mindset that we HAVE to do 30 purely so the game looks prettier. Instead of being a good fucking game.
At the end of the day, I buy my games mostly (there are exceptions) for the gameplay. So for me, performance is usually a big selling point. Guess it depends on what goals you have for your project and what kind of audience you wish to cater to.

Then I recommend you to stick to PC gaming where you (usually) won't have to deal with compromises.

Running at 30 is more often the fact that the game can't manage a constant 60 for some reason or another, the whole "it's more cinematic" thing isn't the main reason companies do it.
A stable 30 FPS will generally be a better experience than a game jumping between 30 and 60 wildly when lots of action is going on.

I'd rather see companies put in the effort of paring down visual fidelity for the tighter 60 FPS experience, but that's just me.

It's hard to market 60 fps, much easier to show off pretty graphics
Dark souls 1 had it hilariously bad
playing at 100+ fps makes the player's sprint slower than walking
playing at 15fps made the player run much faster than at 30 fps

it seems like some games have their ENTIRE budget spent on looking pretty and nothing else
It's a sad state of affairs when you have to announce this as some great feature
SNES ran shit at 60FPS progressive
I remember a lot of games having some major slowdowns during intense scenes.
Super Smash Bros Melee ran at 60 FPS and on a fucking Gamecube
To be fair, Melee is a fighting game on a 2D plane.
60 FPS should be more standard, but fighting games aren't on the same scale as a Dark Souls game.
