I wonder if in the future, consoles will work like iOS or android devices where the new version is basically just the old version but better, with native backwards compatibility. I don't see there still being people wanting to keep buying all these new consoles every 6-7 years that have no games for like a minimum ~1-1.5 years. Like eventually if most people decide to wait on consoles to get games, then no on will buy said console so no dev will makes games for it and it will be early PS3 vicious cycle all over again. I mean MS has already expressed disappointment for Xbox One sales and they are just a few months old.

This happens every generation since like the 80s/90s and its just a passing phase. You are underestimating all the young kids who never stop hyping the next new console to each other, like you have to get one or you are missing out. There will always be the people that buy consoles on release.

except things change in ways that people can't imagine all the time. Who in the 90's would have foreseen microtransactions? And these days gaming is all about the mainstream person who doesn't hype games

Ill agree with your first statement but the latter I know from experience that shit is hyped beyond what I thought was possible with younger kids.
All of my friends younger siblings were acting as if the xbone was crack or some shit.
Give the US this bundle, and I'll OFFICIALLY have a reason to get an xbox one.
Wonder how Sony will respond to this.
400 pounds for a ps4? Damn you Brits are getting ripped off
It's always like that. I bought a monitor a few weeks ago that was $270 on US amazon and £270 on UK amazon. That's $450.

Well just because it's always like that doesn't mean that you're not being ripped off. :(
If they bring this to other regions, they just took a big step towards making the xbone a more appealing choice. IMO, choosing between a $400 Xbone, or $400 ps4 would be a much harder choice.
Yeah sure if you want a massive breeze block in your living room, sub-par performance and gimmicky TV integration which if anything promotes killing the planet, seriously if you want the TV on, turn the xbox off and change the channel. I own both consoles, and to be honest I wish I didn't. Investing in an Xbone is a poor choice, and the price cut won't remedy that. Titanfall isn't even that great.
