He dealt with it as well as he possible could have and the writer accepted his apology
What? Season 4 of Community is fucking abysmally bad. It goes over so many generic plots and every character gets so flanderized that the show becomes absolutely awful. It's so bad that in universe, when Dan Harmon came back, they lampshade it by saying that everyone was suffering from the effects of a Gas Leak and made everything terrible. Though that's not to say anything about Dan personally, he's apparently a massive piece of shit as a person, just not professionally
i know, but John Lassetter has been basically stuffed into hiding by Disney and they're stripping all association with him I thought Dan did the best he possibly could but a lot of people on the internet aren't gonna see it the same way
i know, but John Lassetter has been basically stuffed into hiding by Disney and they're stripping all association with him how have they been doing this?
Community Season 3 is regarded as the high point of the show. Season 4 is a down turn because the new show runners clearly didn't understand any of the characters that they took on.
This doesn't make any sense though, wasn't there just a new guest animation with Rick and Morty on the adult swim channel?
You're expecting Adult Swim's actions to make any sense or have any consistency at all. Not a super great expectation.
i mean last season led up to mcdonalds making a shitty sauce campaign that got people stabbed so not suprised if adult swim is like "ok lets chill this out for a bit"
i really want more pickle rick
Supposed death threats made towards the Adult Swim stream staff when they did a live script read of the Vindicators episode might be something too.
I was being more figurative than literal but he took a 6 month leave LOS ANGELES — One of the Walt Disney Company’s most important executives, the Pixar co-founder John Lasseter, said Tuesday that he would take “a six-month sabbatical” after unspecified “missteps” that made some staffers feel “disrespected or uncomfortable.” Mr. Lasseter, 60, made the announcement in a lengthy email sent to employees at Disney’s animation division, which he leads as chief creative officer. In his email to the staff on Tuesday, Mr. Lasseter said he had agreed in “conversations with Disney” that concerns about his behavior should be treated with “the seriousness they deserve.” He added that a sabbatical “will give me the opportunity to start taking better care of myself, to recharge and be inspired, and ultimately return with the insight and perspective I need to be the leader you deserve.” I didn't mean to imply anything other than them basically putting him in hiding, since he hasn't been heard from in almost 4 months now. I'm not sure if they'll definitely fire him or not, but they definitely want him to maintain a low key status
Oh. I guess I was mistaken
For me, R&M seasons 2 and 3 were both "I hope it's an evil Morty episode: the show", fortunately the episode was more than worth the wait
Fans of Invader Zim tried with Nickelodeon as well, but in vain, for it wasn't viewership that got it canned, it was "too expensive to animate" with the art-style the creator used. Oh and that "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac" thing, as if that ever mattered.
This. That show had the best aesthetic.
It's because of the Szechuan sauce. In that episode he says there will be as many seasons as it takes to get it back. And well, it apparently only took a total of three seasons. Thanks McDonalds
I liked the third season any more than the others(although it had some particularly bad episodes too), but I wouldn't blame them at all for dropping it after the constant media shitstorms and reputation the community has gotten. I'm sure we will hear from him why soon enough, if they arn't currently petitioning for it. He doesn't seem like the sort to keep quiet on that, especially if he feels he got screwed over. Unless he isn't allowed to.
Is it possible this is case of the series hasn’t been ordered yet rather than being outright cancelled?
Yep. Not all series run continuously. I think even rick and morty had a couple year gap once, it's just the tweet from the creator makes things a bit.. odd.
I'd much prefer a renewal for "Harmon Quest."
I didn't see this coming. Then again as you've all pointed out, Adult Swim can be prone to this, plus all this other Harmon stuff. Will be interesting to see if that's it now.
Honestly this feels like a ruse, Knowing how much they like to play with people and how obvious it seems to just say it's cancelled seems suspicious. But i'm not holding my breath on this. It had a good run and i think everyone knows what goes next.
Best news I've heard this year. Eagerly awaiting the cancellation!
I think it's probably for the best. The show's reputation has practically become radioactive and I wouldn't blame [as] for wanting to distance themselves from it.
And why not?
Knowing Harmon, he might be doing this just to be a bit of a dick towards the fans. I seriously doubt that at it's pop-culture height (for better or for worse) they would actually bin the show. Then again, as someone previously mentioned, there's the whole Metalocalypse thing...
Make a new show with World Peace's interesting visuals but without the edgy, questionable political stuff.
Man, that entire meme sauce thing was an absolute cringe fest.
After the fanbase fought in mucdahnalds for soy sauce, the producer realized what monster it had created - a phone call later, and they decided against it But they don't know what their decision has unleashed... :v
