Child abuse imagery found within bitcoin's blockchain

Every bitcoin news thread on facepunch is composed of 2 sides that debate:
People who are too invested in cryptocurrencies vs people who hate cryptocurrencies with a passion and have no idea how they work what so ever
There's a third option here. People like me who don't like bitcoin or current cryptos specifically because they're an inefficient, abusable and environmental nightmare. BUT, we still understand the value of the blockchain technology. It's not a black or white choice here my dude.
The important thing is you've found a way to feel superior to both, clearly.
Fuck, you're right. Guess I better take my less-than-favorable opinions about cryptocurrencies that I made after I was investing heavily in cryptocurrencies and immersing myself in crypto news.
Usually after much debating and wiggling and some searches you see that people who get mad are those who have invested $$$ into crypto
You act like these are substantial sums of money for a large entity that does not like bitcoin.
An entity, like say, the Chinese government.
Why are you butthurt over this I mean why this sarcastic tone? If he is wrong just tell him and if he is right your post comes off as super insecure.
You know we have a saying where I coke from: Dogs that got hit do bark.
Where did I say I was butthurt? All I was saying was that from my experience as an investor, I have grown to dislike cryptocurrencies. If he was right I would still belong to neither group.
why I am tagged in this lol. I have never been "unreasonably mad" about bitcoins? All I have ever really said about bitcoins is that I wouldn't invest in them, or personally recommend investing in them, because they are far too volatile and speculatory. It's more like gambling than investing. I mean, by all means, buy as much bitcoin as you like. Your money, your choice. Just not my cup of tea.
It's okay, the child molester rating works just fine here
Bitcoin Minors
I'm a lazy piece of shit who doesn't use discord and felt that his post was a tad over the top in the flaming department. Figured it'd be easier for me to just tag a mod instead of going through the effort of having to confirm my self on discord, etc/whatever is required just to use the report discord, just to report a rude post.
Obviously this is just spitballing here, but i wonder how possible it is that this kind of data is planted by big governments who have a bias against deregulated currency like china or the norks in order to erode trust in the system. Theyd have plenty of motivation to do such a thing after all
They could just (partially) outlaw it.
True stories:
South korea 'banned crypto' and after all media fear and misinformation, same politicians that announced 'ban' were found out to be insider trading. Later that 'ban' wasn't even a ban, just a ban on anonymous trading (so people needed to do KYC), and some light regulations.
South Korea's FSS is Investigating Insider Trading of Cryptocurr..
2. Polish banks were found out to be paying money to people to spread mis-information about Bitcoin
https://cointelegraph.com/news/polish-central-bank-secretly-funds-anti-crypto-youtube-propaganda-videos
Would surprise me one bit. Not that they have plenty of motivation, they can profit of it too. Just short bitcoin then start massive media campaign. Then close short and change media narrative to positive one. Works like a clockwork everytime.
Nice sources, care to post ones that aren't obviously biased trash? Because tbh, while your conspiracy theory tier news there is possible, I'm highly unlikely to believe it's genuine with names like "coin telegraph" and "coinspeaker". lol
I bet cloud providers and file services have much more CP than Bitcoin, much more easier access to it and they are still here. Where are feds?
And on top of that, for BTC you'd need special software to get access to files which is already retarded in itself.
I am sure CP on BTC is feds least concern out of all problems they are facing.
You're avoiding the point again.
Those services will remove offending content when they are made aware of it. That is what is required. The fact that bitcoin cannot quickly remove it is the problem, not the fact that it exists. It's a wide open attack vector, and anyone with deep pockets and an agenda can exploit it.
I like to fight biased news with biased news. And yes, Guardian can be very biased sometimes (liberal, using loaded words, wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion).
And they achieved exactly that according to this thread.
Anyway, here less biased sources:
South korea insider trading

2. Polish central bank accused of YouTube 'smear campaign' against ..
And if they did it once, they can do it twice.
Unless there is some way to prevent people from uploading stuff.
That's a retarded way to go about things but alright, you do you my dude.
Those sources are much better though, thank you.
I love how you openly admit to shitposting and then expect people to take you seriously.
True, I agree with you, clouds can remove content.
Then again, in BTC case every BTC can be tracked (where it was purchased off), yes even with mixed bitcoins you can track them (not to mention IPs). So, whoever uploaded it could be tracked down in the end.
Well yeah, it's kind of hard to pick source when there are 100 different news sites with same 'coin' in their name on first page on Google, so I assumed it doesn't matter which I pick.
There are so many bitcoin laundering services currently that this is functionally meaningless, and this would do nothing to stop a government entity from doing it.
Laundering service doesn't mean it makes bitcoins untraceable. And let government entity do it, let the public trust erode even further, what can go wrong ;).
