Days after LawBreakers shut down, CliffyB's studio reveals a Battle Royale game

I think things are more of the same because of ideas pitched to investors. They'll be more likely to shell out cash if you're pitching a proven concept to them already versus something new and untested.
So basically just free Monster?
And now that I'm thinking about it, the "Vending Machine" concept seems all too familiar...

Although this was added to Fortnite just a few days ago so I'm going to assume it's coincidence until proven otherwise.
Like, "Oh it's free" yadda yadda yadda oh wait fuckers you're launching it with an overtly pay to win founder's pack.
Fuck off Cliffy B
That was quickly removed btw. Looks like its purely cosmetic now. Radical Heights
That just makes you piss blood, which in all honesty is worse because it sneaks up on you when you least expect it and is because the drink boiled your insides into goo.
do you guys have paper for digestive tracts or something
i'm not sure releasing a game on the same day as an overwatch event again is a great idea
Haha oh wow, the crux of the post I made on the other page was that the only unique feature this seemingly had over it's obvious inspiration Fortnite is an uninspired money system with gun vending machines. Seeing this just makes the blow so much worse for Radical Heights.
"So our last project, a poorly advertised shooter trying to cash in on a popular fad about a year too late, was a massive failure. Now that that's behind us, what do you think we should make next, Cliff?"
"Okay so hear me out..."
Can I just say at least, that the map looks interesting for a battle royale game? It's given that it seems quite large but the urban scrawl in the trailers look more natural than anything I've seen in PUBG or Fortnite, and I've always wanted to play a battle royale game that takes place in a more contemporary looking setting.
Unfortunately for Radical Heights, I don't think the map design is going to win it any points. I'm not sure if such a map would even play out well in a battle royale game and if it does, I'm sure there's another BR game out there with an even better map of the same vein.
yeah, Halo killed itself by copying another game's formula
Im starting to get tired of that 80s synth thing of neon pink grid and poly mountains.
I hope that Cliffy B and Randy Pitchford team up to make some other disappointment. They'd go great together.
Honestly, if he wanted to be sucessful he should've just made a Gears of War clone. Stick with the shit you know how to do properly, don't copy shit you obviously know nothing about.
Cogs of Combat: Battle Royal
The steam screenshots make it look a bit better
Problem isn't promoting the game.
The problem here is having your game be different and better from all the other clones and the original you're copying from.
In this case, why would anyone want to play this when they have either Fortnite or PUBG?
Why would anyone want to play Lawbreakers when they have a shitload of other more established games out there? OW, Siege, CSGO, whatever.
That aside, I think CliffyB is way too cocky. I like his attitude, up to a point, and that point is where he defends his game with tooth and nails, making it out to be what it will never be.
Boy am I tired of a battle royale game coming out each month.
What are they going to make next, a Hello Neighbor MOBA?
Cliffy is the Al Bundy of the game world.

There's pretty much a consensus on that, Cliffy.
Yeah his love of dogs is legendary.
i'm so sick of this whole "retro 80's" circlejerk, and the type of people who find it "unique".
you know what I'm talking about.
i was ok with it when it got a small rise in 2015, but it just doesn't stop popping out of everywhere in the internet, just please die already.
also about this game, you couldn't even be less original, combining the battle royale circlejerk with the 80s circlejerk... eughhh.
It's funny that you make Overwatch an example, Overwatch is not an original idea, it's a TF2 ripoff.
Does the term "Oversaturated Market" mean anything to Cliffy B?
Cause it seems like he learned absolutely nothing from Lawbreakers.
This is hilarious on so many levels.
This might be the new peak of scummy. Nothing about this sounds like a genuine product. Nothing says you're trying to go for the lowest common denominator when your entire pitch is "Remember the 80s?" as if this game hit production the moment they saw speilburg on ready player one. Of course cliffy b is going to try and cash in on the Battle Royale as it's hitting its peak, but wow he couldn't have picked a more f2p gimmick of he tried: Taking a mode that's all about starting from 0 and instead making it about how much money you have at the start.
I was never a big cliffy b fan but this is insanely disappointing.
Even some chinese companies make better rippoff of successful games.
Seriously this looks like a bad Fortnite clone mixed with an attempt to put "wacky" content in it.
Hell, thats the laziest way to be 80s. The 80s was much more than "a e s t h e t i c" memey and doing just that shtick cimes of as someone who didnt live during ir remember the 80s properly.
