Stoneman Douglas Teacher Arrested After Forgetting Gun in Public Bathroom

I mean, technically, if the holster's job is to secure the weapon to the user, and there's some very clear-cut scenarios where it's incapable of doing that in every-day usage, I'd call that a flaw, personally, if not a limitation to its intended purpose.
You said it, a holsters job is to secure itself to its user. Its job is done when the user takes it off, IE taking your mapnts down to take a shit.
So having it just flop out is perfectly fine???
Why dont you design the first cc holster that has a built in tripod for taking a tactical shit in a public restroom
I have seriously no idea what you're talking about.
Somebody who I know for a fact knows a lot about guns said that when you take a shit with a typical holster"they have a tendency to plop over and point at you if you leave them on your belt." Based solely off of the information given to me, I said that that sounds like a design flaw. I made absolutely no attempt to explain the finer points of CCing to anyone.
How about one that just keeps it strapped in until you actually want to pull it out? If you need a tripod for a CC handgun then you're pretty worthless with it, I'd say.
See the above post about elix being snooty on a subject he knows little about.
The issue isnt the holster bending, the issue is your pants arent made of steel. Maybe thats an entrepreneurial opportunity for you.
The issue with those is that in the case that you would actually need the weapon, the holster fights you.
I know that these aren't an option for all guns (and I have no idea if they're even available to the public), but I like the idea quite a lot. I might be mistaken, but I also remember seeing similar ones that allow you to draw the weapon by just grabbing the grip and then "pushing" it out of the bottom of the holster with your finger on a button in the same place that it would be if you were practicing good trigger discipline. I feel like those hit a nice point of functionality (the gun locks in firmly) while retaining speed of draw and action.
You will never, ever, ever convince a single person to listen to you by responding that way. The most you're going to achieve is feeling good about 'blowing the person out' and/or pats on the back from people who already agreed with you.
I mean personally, in my experience all that's needed for items on a belt to not fold towards you while taking a dump is wearing a leather belt and having the belt-clips be rigid, which makes your shit stay pointed at the ground (which is even more important in a restroom; I mean, think about how you'd actually position a gun while taking a dump if you had to remove it from the holster. It's either on the ground where it could be grabbed by somebody who sees it, or it's on the toiler paper holder thing and pointed at chest-level towards a thin wall that you can't see through. It's not like your gun is going to completely randomly go off while sitting on a shelf, but I personally am 100% uncomfortable ever putting a firearm in a position that it is aimed at a person, even if it's on a table. Doubly so if it's loaded.)
I aint a teacher. Like was said earlier, if the guy wants to learn, he should google stuff instead talkin out his ass and having us correct him.
The holster you posted is very clearly for open carrying. Not useful for concealed carrying. Plus it forces you to carry without a round in the chamber which gets you dead in a jiffy. The article even talks about how its a shitty design and the comparison video even shows a malfunction caused by the exaggerated movements it forces on you. Not useful for anybody. Holsters that force you flip a switch, press a button, or move a latch are not good for CC. They make you dead fast.
Leather belts and metal loops dont solve dicks. Thats how 95% of people CC as it is. The only thing that would fix it is metal belts and leather loops. Its not a design flaw, thats just how gravity works.
Honestly this isnt an issue for anyone. Nobody was complaining, we were just pointing out its awkward to shit while CCing. You guys jumped in not knowing anything and giving us dumb advice that sparked this bizaare conversation.
I've had to use public restrooms while carrying my gun which I carry every time I go out for personal protection..
I hate touching anything and wash hands before and after - but what I do is I either keep my belt buckled ( zip-tie style gun thick leather belt ) or . fold the pants in a way the pants do not ever touch the floor, I keep my legs at enough tension pushing outwards and fold the gun into the pants..
With some pants it isn't possible to do either so we need gun shelves / locks in bathrooms with a sink in the bathroom would be great because I'd want to wash my hands before touching it because I keep my gun clean.... Or I ensure only one hand does anything with the gun and the other only does other things....
I have placed my gun in my pants before acting as a shelf and it worked well keeping pants at tension but not on floor.....
I have also taken alcohol a two hands worth of fingers in my lifetime - and even when I was completely drunk I never understood how people could act stupid - I keep my wits about me and to me it makes no sense... Yes it lowers inhibitions a little bit but not the point of being so stupid as to pull the trigger of a weapon - that has to exist before hand....
However, I don't like to drink and I think the last time I actually had something was out on a boat in 2010 or 11... It's just not something I enjoy because I like a clear head - I don't like feeling high or anything of that nature... but reading this...
all I can say is... seriously??
