One glass of wine or pint of beer a day shortens your life - report

Damn
Have people figured out if being anxious about your health is good or bad for you yet? I need to know after reading all these headlines.
The vast majority of these health studies are based on extrapolations from an attempt to pull causation out of a lot of correlations. They almost never actually know the mechanism of action or actual reason for the cause.
The problem is that the lifestyles of people who drink wine every day are almost certainly different in millions of other ways when compared to people who never drink alcohol. The ONLY way to establish causation is to meaningfully take out all these other variables, but it's almost impossible to actually figure out all the variables. So you get new reports ever few years that make new conclusions as they add and subtract other variables from the equation.
Actually this study doesn't conflict that saying, a glass of wine a day is not 10-18 glasses a week. The "advice" also says that it should be be a pretty small portion anyway.
Not that I'm worried, I barely ever drink alcohol. As far as most people are concerned, I doubt a year or two will really convince anyone.
Just don't drink heaps every day.
I mean I do but fuck it lmao who knows if there'll even be a world in 30 years with everything thats going on.
but then there are studies that say t-total are less healthy than moderate drinkers.
The journal article itself is actually open source if anyone would like to read it. One difficulty of these studies, and especially in meta studies, is the reliance on self reporting for data.
