Some people replying to the thread are under the impression that the other arguing side are insufficiently compassionate towards the situation and are judging it too harshly or overly within limited parameters.

This certainly does not warrant ad hominem but it mostly happened because this entire ordeal is kind of infuriating and it's can be difficult to discuss angering topics without sounding visibly pissed off through text sometimes, even if they do not actually think that you are a sociopath or a heartless monster in general.
