New "DOOM" movie supposed in the works by Universal

If they give the main character the same deranged and unhinged nature that he has in the comics I'll bite. He's supposed to have shot a superior officer for trying to kill civilians, that's a pretty badass backstory. Silent protagonist would be good too.
make him a literal raging murder machine by the end of the movie, don't even make a story, just have 5 hours of endless gore and screaming, I don't care, I'll sit there like a mindless drone and mouthgap at it.
Give the film the Mad Max treatment. Little dialogue, let the world tell the story, and just have a steady stream of action with at least a few scenes of exposition before we get back to more killing. Seriously, Fury Road is probably the best action movie to take lessons from.
Make it completely in first person like the FPS scene from the last movie, and hardcore henry. And i'll fucking watch it no matter how bad it is.
According to a conversation Variety had with an NBC/Universal spokesperson, the movie is being produced by their "Universal 1440 Entertainment" label, indicating that the film will very likely not be a theatrical release;

Can't wait to see the return of the "Bio Force Gun"
Oh fucking yuck, why even bother?
maybe i'm just dumb but his backstory in 16 seems almost deliberately weird and contradictory. quake champions suggests it started with a mix of Doom 3 and 1 and then continued into Dooms 2 and 64. but there's also alternate universes, so was the Doom 3 guy just that universe's Doomguy, or is he just who the original doomguy started out as? also his armor is supposedly made in Hell but has a bunch of English and UAC logos on it that nobody recognizes. it's fucking confusing
I'm pretty sure Doom 3 takes place in one of the universes that he shows up in. I mean he just kind of shows up and doesn't talk in both the main game and the expansion and there are tablets later in the game that depict the Doom Marine and the events of previous games and whatnot.
A well made doom film could be pretty awesome, so im just gonna be extremely carefully optimistic.
Didn't the director for the first movie never even play or see DOOM? Like, they literally just took the name and saw some assets and were like "I got this, superzombies in space, right?"
