I thought Levels was just a really fun throwaway kind of song, and then True came out and it was like oh shit this guy isn't fucking around https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cp6mKbRTQY
I haven't been this surprised by a celebrity death for a while. Awful.
As someone with chronic pancreatitis you have no idea how much this video means to me. You're in pain all the time, and trying to find things to eat that won't fuck you up is surprisingly hard, also the chances of getting IBS/Chrohn's or pnacreatic cancer go up as much as 300%.
This is more unexpected than fresh air exploding
I thought someone was joking, this is heart breaking. This man was insanely talented and he probably had plenty left to give.
The really sad part is A he was essentially carrying electronic music to a new renaissance one work at a time. Consider what was hot before he blew up, and what he brought to the table. He carried that shit almost by himself at first, while still respecting everyone around him that were essentially just doing what was expected to be commercially successful. Without him electronica would be in the same molasses ass state that mainstream hip hop is right now. and B he realized what the business was doing to him and trying to find a better way to stay a good artist without compromising himself or his beliefs. You can tell just from what he had done already in such a short time he was probably here for the long haul to keep the genres he chose both relevant and timeless. Sucks. Just really sucks.
What the fuck
i was in the middle of a fucking night out when we all got a push notification to our phones that he had died RIP my dude
this sucks..I used to rave a lot and I feel out of place because we are the same age.. and its scary because i had a huge drinking problem around the same age as him and had to stop because I thought I was doing harm to myself. Fuck..
Shit that's terrible, I know he talked about his alcohol use but it sucks it resulted in his death
Fucking balling over this shit, Avicii was never my favorite artist but goddamn 28 is way too young to die, this makes me rethink my life. I'm 25 right now, and I don't want to go that soon.

1 off from the 27 club Avicii was beyond talented, almost entirely responsible for an entire new generation of music. It's surreal to think someone so gifted and so young could drop dead without warning. I had heard he took a break from tour bc health problems, but damn...
This actually hits me really hard. Avicii has to be the only artist where I like almost every single song of him, and his music actually gave me the willpower to push through tough times, while simultaneously inspiring me with my mapping projects for some reason. Godspeed, my man.
The video got taken down. Here's an alternative: https://youtu.be/iTmamhtnHmI
Wow. This is incredibly sad to hear, at 28 too that's fucking horrible. I know that TMZ is one of the worst, scummiest tabloids in the world, but they have a photo relevant so I'm gonna post this: https://images.tmz.com/2018/04/21/0421-avicii-oman-yacht-4.jpg This was Avicii on a yacht on Thursday, literally the day before he passed. Definitely doesn't seem to be in bad health at all. Considering that it was the night going into 4/20 and a buncha friends out on a private yacht, that very much leads me to believe this may be a drug related death. There's a lot of research chemicals or laced opiates that could kill you incredibly easily, and it wouldn't surprise me if something weird turned up in the toxicology report. Drug related or not though, still a horrible horrible thing to happen. My condolences to his friends and family. At the very least, it seems like he had a good last night.
28 is way too young. Apparently he was fighting against human trafficking. An important voice in this fight has been lost, but I hope people won't give up hope. Rest in peace my dude, I didn't listen to much of your music, but what I did was pretty good.
