Such a stupid and dangerous mentality.
This is my favourite timeline for all of the wrong reasons
Just when you thought anti-vaxxers couldn't possibly get more retarded, they inbreed with the kind of people that think a vegan diet for a cat is healthy and 'natural'. Fuck off.
I think this is old news. I distinctly remember joking with my mom a year or two ago about our dumb cat having autism, back when I first heard about this shit. (I'm on the spectrum, btw)
The thing that depresses me the most about this shit is that I thought the internet could help provide large advancements by being an unlimited and easily accessible resource of knowledge. Instead, it's managed to reinforce willful ignorance across the board so now we have shit like a movement dedicated to halting medical technology because of a rumor that vaccines cause autism despite this being proven wrong time and time again.
Jesus Christ they act like Autism is worse than Cancer. I have Autism, granted it's not as severe as most people, but last time I checked I am pretty fucking normal.
Well the choice between autisim and death, death is obviously the lesser concern.
I'm being assessed for Asperger's soon. To the other people in this thread on the spectrum: do you all find that sarcasm is incomprehensible? I find that all the symptoms match for me except that one. I'm actually reasonably okay with sarcasm and irony.
i personally can't tell and assume the worst

You say that but the antivax calculation goes the other way, which says a hell of a lot about both the average antivaxxer's understanding of science but also how much respect they give to autistic people. If I seized power, proclaimed myself dictator, and ordered anyone refusing vaccinations for fucking dumb reasons like antivax (as opposed to a legit medical allergy to vaccines) sterilized, I'd be called an evil tyrant but I'd be making the world a better place. All this freedom and all some people can think to do with it is reject the finest medical science has to offer because they'd rather they, their kids, or someone else's kid die of an all-natural, organic, free-range preventable disease.
i play dota on eu servers, and i can debunk this claim because i've been called an autistic dog numerous times
It really is sickening how people act like Autism is worse than cancer or any of the diseases you can prevent with vaccines.
That's actually not that common of a symptom. I've met a lot of people with Aspergers and very few of them don't get sarcasm. It might be a symptom more common among children with ASD.

reminder that autism, as defined, is a wide-reaching spectrum. no two people are going to be perfectly alike likewise, i feel there probably needs to be more research into specific cases to help identify the case scenarios within such a broad label.
They couldn't stop at giving their children bleach enemas, huh? Are they gonna do the same to their dogs now? Fucking nutjobs.
I don't think it will come down to this, I mean how can you even tell if your pet has autism? (Which they don't, since they can't have it)
next up: meat causes autism!
a quick and dirty google tells me we aren't too far from this
my dear sweet child, humanity always finds a way to make you lose faith in this planet
daugtism
It's funny how I wouldn't even know unless you told me It shows how autism isn't this horrifying thing that makes everyone who has it this shut in mute who can't leave their own brain There are tons of people that have autism and it's impossible to even tell because they learned how to cope with the issues that it causes and live normal functioning lives
i think ive known a grand total of like 2 people who have autism severe enough to actually effect them both mentally and physically, and they're both affected by the worst forms of it other than that anyone else i know with autism is really no different from anyone else i just am not really capable of the mental gymnasitcs to really understand why you'd put your own child at risk, and everyone else's, simply becuase you beleive a totally debunked rumor about vaccines causing autism. like at what point do you deny reality to that degree, but also not become a total tinfoil hat wearing nutcase
It's moments like these that 'I don't want to live on this planet anymore' clip was made for.
How the fuck would you even know if a dog has autism?
Don't think you can expect much logic, reason or trust in doctors from anti-vaxxers to begin with, so asking why they would do it is kinda mood. Kinda reminds me of some hardcore vegans that impose the same vegan diet on their pets.
I've been saying this before, I'm saying this again. Internet, while fascinating, in this regard is a disaster. Most of the opinions that would simply get slammed 7-10 years ago for being outright retarded (and rightly so) are nowadays being circled up in echo chambers where they get further entrenched in their own delusions. I mean, I am pretty sure there are echo chambers of zoophiles where people reassure each other that fucking dogs or being fucked by dogs is okay, so they reinforce their beliefs in a way "well if somebody else does it that means i'm not fucked up and it's fine". It's disgusting, really.
Dogs can get illnesses like depression and OCD but eh, we don't really understand autism that well in humans, much less understanding if there's any equivalent in dogs. It would probably just be someone extrapolating a couple symptoms (like repetitive behavior) or something.
