Can I still donate if I'm in the US and it's already funded? Not sure how conversion to Pounds Sterling works on Gofundme, never used the site before.
If it's anything like Kickstarter it'll just do it transparently in the background with the exchange rate from some arbitrary time their payment provider is using that should be accurate enough to the real rate. Watching even more of his "debate" with Destiny might have actually harmed my ability to think critically, Dankula is really, really not proving a single point. He's such an ardent free speech advocate that he's okay with the President of the USA taking a news agency to court, failing to understand the weight of the HEAD OF STATE taking a press agency to court.
If you want to balance that stream out and round out your perspective on him more, I recommend watching his stream with Amos Yee.
People need to stop being such a fucking snowflakes that get offended by literally anything.
It seems society as a whole is getting thinner and thinner skin as time wears on, it's crazy.
People say this about every generation they are in and the generations immediately after them and it doesn't help that with the internet making the world a smaller place, getting reactions from easily-offended people is more common than ever. But if you actually consider the people you know and hang around with in real life I think you'd find most people aren't particularly thin-skinned and, if anything, my experience has been that the older generations (read: boomers) are at least as whiny and entitled if not significantly more so than millennials and gen Z.
Well, you can look back and see examples like the actual puritans. I think it's gone in cycles and right now we're in an upward swing of the puritanical pendulum.
I tried looking for the actual specific charge in the Communications Act that he was charged for, but couldn't find it in news articles. But Google gave me a link to legislation.gov.uk Communications Act 2003, chapter 21, part 2, chapter 1, Offences relating to networks and services, section 127 Improper use of public electronics communications network ... 127 (2) A person is guilty of an offence if, for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another, he— (a) sends by means of a public electronic communications network, a message that he knows to be false, It's illegal to lie to someone with the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety. Does that mean that 12 year olds saying they've fucked your mom, are breaking the law?
People's skins don't get any thinner. The subject of what offends them is the true variable.
In the prior thread when he was originally found guilty a lot of people were making the argument that it would set a precedent, but I would argue that a precadent had already been set by the thousands of convictions under the law, and that was as of three years ago. There are guidelines in place that limit the usage of Section 127 but as far as I can tell none of them are mandatory and there is no real oversight beyond the appeal process. At the very least the law needs to be revised to codify these guidelines.
I don't think Count Cannula is the kind of person you should being looking to for quality debating skills, but more of a source of silly memes and dabbing. Looking anymore into his life is kinda of waste of time if you ask me.
just bumping this to point out a donation he just got ten hours ago https://mobile.twitter.com/CountDankulaTV/status/992497663827472384 It’s now ~13k away from 200k god damn. N1 Notch
I've said it before, but I've always admired Notch's capacity to just not give a fuck.
I mean he's rich, even before then he didn't give a shit mind you but still, being rich also makes people give less of a fuck about what other people think.
Eh, I don't know I kinda feel like "not giving a fuck" Notch might not be quite the same Notch he was before he got rich off his little Infiniminer clone, lost his dad to suicide, and got divorced, and that makes me sad.
Fuck political correctness, we all have the right to laugh and make jokes, its what makes us move on with life.
My hope is that this'll show that no, people aren't willing to accept the precedent of the court dictating the context of someone's own words. Even if he loses his appeal (which I hope he wins), this'll show that's not an acceptable thing.
So if he was targeting £100k to get a legal team with some clout, what is he going to do with £200k? Just keep on piling on the lawyers?
Train an army of Nazi pugs that march across the courtroom to get some giggles, once that happens, case closed.
Sue that reporter if he loses the appeal.
invest it all in bitcoin
If people were angry, wouldn't ricky gervais be sued to death
