Amazon is increasing the cost of annual Prime memberships from $99 to $119

I live in bumfuck nowhere in New England and Prime 2-Day shipping is always on time or earlier for me.
Does Amazon solely control wage inflation...?
... What? You can't allow Amazon to jump it's prices "cuz inflation" while wages stay the same. I don't care whether Amazon controls wages (though they do control their own) they still shouldn't up their prices
I don't think it's reasonable to expect an entity to not increase their prices to maintain the same level of value coming in.
The fact that wages have not increased with inflation is not Amazon's responsibility (on the whole).
The same amount of value coming in? When they pay the same amount to their employees?
To be honest; even if we were to demand better government mandated wages Amazon and the like would kick and scream no matter what.
They don't care. They can afford to not care. This is part and parcel of why mega-multinational corporations are just a terrible idea and need to be broken apart because if you think that somehow your singular voice within hundreds of thousands counts for anything more than just white noise you're insane.
Unionization efforts are the only way to give normal people voices but I can already see several people talking their individuality like it fucking means anything anymore.
Welp, guess I'd better binge watch a bunch of stuff on Prime Video so I get my money's worth.
Amazon prime is horse shit now. They keep adding new conditions to squirrel themselves out of free shipping through prime with this 'prime pantry' bullshit.
contact support every time itappens. they'll give you extra months for free.
Also, it wasnt but like 3 years ago when Amazon raised the price $20. Amazons' CEO is technically the richest person in the world, I think they can afford to change the way they deal with money to make their employees and customers happier.
Its inflation when everything is getting a raise. Prices, wages, etc.
But when the prices get higher and the wage stays the same or goes lower. Then its just fucking over the poor.
A company can actually change their prices for any reason at all. I'm assuming Amazon is doing it in the US only because demand is too high, afaik everyone I know that uses amazon is a prime member or orders via a prime account.
So... They raise prices because they're making lots of money basically. They aren't adding any actual value
If a business has too many customers to the point that it's literally unprofitable to serve that many since supply is choked, they will increase the price to drive demand down.
I guess it's the entire idea of capitalistic infinite growth that's the problem
How is it a problem?
How are you simultaneously upset that the employees are treated poorly and also that they're trying to reduce customer volume and/or increase profits? The volume at the price is literally part of why the employees are so overworked.
