EA's Anthem to release Microtransactions after launch

Literally nobody was talking about Star Citizen other than that one mention, elix.
ME3 was great
There's no inch giving, just stop buying garbage games if you want to stop experiencing garbage games
I'm going to compare them to SC anyway because they haven't introduced playable kzinti kilrathi as a stretch goal.
Ugh this sucks.
I'm worried that if Anthem is gonna be a failure, that Bioware won't bother following through with Dragon Age 4 which is what I'm really waiting for.
Dragon Age will be past hardening by the time Anthem launches.
It isn't gonna change until people stop buying into it.
Legislation a la lootbox isn't gonna come because it isn't gambling, and EA and everyone else will keep on churning out microtransactions as long as people fall for them. At this point, microtransactions are like zombie or ww2 games: they'll only disappear when the pushers see a critical drop in sales, and we all know that isn't going to happen.
Heck, if rumors are true, we might soon get some true Big Brother shit that pushes microtransactions in the most favorable way possible.
ME3's combat and MP was great; the rest is a game made in two years garbage fire.
Better than Andromeda from what I hear.
I was a huge fan of ME1 - 3 even if 3 was lacking in the story department, but I literally had no desire to touch Andromeda which is kinda disappointing because I had been looking forward to it for so long.
Same old shtick. Of course they don't want to repeat the fiasko of Battlefront but at the same time they long for dat sweet sweet microtransaction bucks.
I gave Andromeda the benefit of doubt but it really is shit, both the MP and especially SP
So that's their new strategy is it. People REALLY hate Microtransactions, but look at BF2, after we re-implemented them, the backlash was far less and more favorable. So we'll just do it post launch instead of at launch!
my god, another one fell into the wormhole to our universe- the universe where kai leng exists!
Then explain this game.

Linear co-op only game, where you can give a friend a copy for free. No microtransactions either. Goes totally against what EA are apparently going for, yet they still published it.
I fucking hate how gaming is purely about money now. They'd sell ya nan's fuckin batty for a fiver I fuckin swear down
EA occasionally publish really fucking great things via subsidiary developers. It's how we got Titanfall for Christs sake. But it's usually an avenue for them to buy up said developer entirely as they have done with Respawn recently. Which takes a lot of creative control out of their hands no doubt as they now actually answer to EA rather than just getting money from them in return for revenue. Titanfall 2 had a perfectly acceptable post launch monetisation scheme that flies counter to what EA have been focusing on for the last few years, I really don't know if Respawn will be able to keep this up in future games now thanks to being bought out.
Hazelight are almost certainly being eyed up for acquisition if EA dont already own them outright. The number of studios bought out, then closed or merged into DICE (and it is almost always DICE) isn't great. A similar story for Activision and their CoD development army.
If it's a good enough game then I'll have someone inform me of its existence, like you just did.
Boy am I glad EA ruined every series I cared about. Now I don't even have to pay attention to them anymore.
And people will still buy the game and EA will have enough profit to make a sequel.
This is incredibly disheartening to see as I liked the idea of the series and definitely the theme of the game from what I saw of it. I wasn't sure it was going to be groundbreaking, but this... Well. This just sucks.
One of the only games I was looking forward to in the relatively near future will turn out to be a shitfest due to EA.
God damn, and I was so excited for this game too. How disappointing.
More like Ayn Rand's Anthem.
