I wanted Battlefront III, but not like this. Fucking EA.

Sort of a thing you have to realize when you join this industry. Im on the verge of becoming a professional concept artist, but, wouldn't surprise in the near future if i work on projects i hate/disagree/disapprove of. But, it pays the bills and keeps me alive, so i can make my own shit in my free time.

Stop buying EA's games. Seriously.

Worst case scenario is that if Titanfall 3 comes out with NO gun micro-transactions and yet plays to cater to every fans desires for a sequel which gains major traction, EA will axe support of it early because "it didn't reach the targeted sell goal". Can't reach the top of the hill without a mountain of moolah.

this cannot be emphasized enough. really guys, when it comes to EA games, remember this simple saying. dont buy them. no matter how fun they look, no matter how much you like the series it belongs to, no matter how much EA might appear to have changed stop buying shit from EA. i remember a huge amount of apologism towards this game when it came out because it was so 'fun' and it's a star wars game guys jeez just learn to have fun. well surprising absolutely no one the game is apparently about to be put down by EA and thousands of developers and artists will see their work burn up and get left behind.

I wish people would actually fucking remember this shit when the next big EA game comes out.

How about a Bf4 esque boost. Have people already forgotten about the comeback that game made? EA has the capacity to make great games, and they really show by taking as step back and really just letting developers control their games, primarily taking into consideration what the market calls for.

As long as EA is on stock exchange nothing will change no matter how many people in power you fire. Just look at other big video game publishers such as Activision Blizzard or Take Two. Hell, look at the world at large, companies focusing on investors over consumers is a bane of almost every market.

I personally feel much better about videogames in general after I stopped giving a shit about anything EA put out.

I feel bad for DICE, man. They make good games when EA doesn't have them in a choke hold.

I feel like DICE is as much part of the problem as EA is. They haven't made a single player campaign that was worth a damn since Bad Company 2 and just by looking at the weapon unlocks with Battlefield 1 there's some seriously poor judgement calls there. Why should I have to use a terrible gun and get 50 headshots with it to unlock something I PAID FOR. Don't get me wrong, they can do great work, but assuming EA is the only reason their games are flawed isn't seeing the forest for the trees here.

Wasn't BF2 supposed to be an apology game for how abysmal BF1 was. Nice.

I think that's possible, but it is also possible that they were instructed to gate content that way from EA to try and increase player retention. It's hard to say for sure. All I know is that they are capable of better and it is disappointing regardless of the reason.
