As if removing pornographic videogames will end sexual exploitation
The first one is a condescending shitpost, but the second one is just an opinion.
"No more sexual assault training"
I'm willing to relent on porn games being removed from Steam because the loophole is a real thing and on that basis sure, whatever Valve wants Steam to be (which is still a landfill, tbh). That the root cause may be some "vidya gaems are literally training kids to rape" hacktivists is just insulting and tiring.
So a little bit of backstory about this group. It's apparently made up of extreme feminist TERFs and SWERFS
go to filters -nudity -visual novel -anime boom, your front page is now clear of anime vns.
Where is that located? I've looked through all the settings and the entire Steam store page.
i'm guessing steam is kinda the reason why a lot of japanese developers are even considering the western market to begin with
So not actual feminists, then.
They are a cancer that needs to be cut out, so sure. I'll agree with this.
If they have enough tags or don't use those labels they still show up. Been like that since back when Visual Novels and VR games just started to pop up.
sry, realized it's a bit hard to spot.

what the christ
But when are they going to remove all the murder simulators teaching our kids to shoot up schools!?!?
Holy shit I have never seen such stupidity. If Valve actually goes through with this on these bullshit reports I think I'm done with them entirely.
"People like things i dont like and thats bad."
Considering how Valve works this could all be because of one employee with a stick up their ass and bothering to enforce their own rules.
Sure why not hide an important function behind a small icon that only appears when you hover over a certain part of the page
Fuckin steam
>No more sexual assault training
Fuck. How am I supposed to get away with sexual assault now? My training game, in which you run a bakery with two human-cat hybrids is gone now. Even the fallback plan of the one where you play match three is going to be gone.
Seriously, what the fuck are they rambling on about? Are we observing another instance of a person trapped in a parallel universe? Do the Berenstain/Berenstein bears even exist where they're from? If not, what's replacing them?
Most Japanese games don't fall under this category anyways.
Holy shit, I've wanted this game for so long and now it's being removed before I can get it lmao
Oi Steam, you missed a big white spot here
Leisure Suit Larry Bundle on Steam
Really wish they would just allow adult content by making it a setting that can be made to be under parental control. The only way that's not entirely acceptible is by using mental gymnastics like the whole "porn is sexual harassment training" shtick used by certain groups of militarized prudes.
Seriously, if Valve's PR isn't going crazy preparing a formal response/explanation/whatever as we speak, they'll be losing the trust (and money) from a hell of a lot of people. Here's hoping a response is issued soon, if not today then tomorrow.
i hope they go and start to distribute their games in a decentralised manner, id love to see the return of drm-free game purchasing on a large scale (that isn't GOG)
but what if our kids learn to throw bells and blood drops and stars and shit at girls until they orgasm and get $monies$
sex ed is already fucked up enough to confuse them further
Forget all the scam asset flips, suggestive material is the real problem. Unless you're AAA of course.
Also like how they've put a time limit on actually removing it so they can still take a nice cut of sales from people rushing to buy it before it's gone
Get this.
Valve just featured a ton of VNs very recently on a lot of sale
Like up until last week. So this decision is very out of the blue
Neptunia franchise is on sale with a front page booty ad right now too

Games like House Party, Porno Studio Tycoon, Mass Effect: Andromeda, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and more are normalizing sexually explicit and exploitive themes in mainstream gaming.
lmao can't wait to see the blowback of them removing Witcher 3.
I enjoyed HuniePop. But yeah a lot of these games look like low-effort rpgmaker games that are only here to show a boob and make a quick buck.
