• HuniePop and other adult games facing removal from Steam after complaints

Can't get Steam to just make an age gate that actually works. Or at least works enough to say that the rest is up to the parents. Nope. That would require working on something. And if it's from some legal issue that would require taking down adult stuff no matter what, then: thanks, old people and moral panickers. okay those characters need like 10% more face not much just to enough to actually fill out their head Their style with the Hate VNs was fine as it was. It looks like they were trying to cut back the anime but ended up going a little too far.
lmao so I was completely right there is no defending valve's decision here. this organization targets snapchat, EBSCO (They archive/host academic science journals), HBO (Sex in GoT), iBooks ("theres erotic literature!"), Youtube, and a few others. they can get fucked.
I realize y'all might be rating OP winner because it's anime shit and all that and why do you care? that shit's scum anyway to you. But the removal of those games absolutely paves the path to the removal of literally any game that has sex in it at all, not just the anime ones. I hope you have the brains here to realize that the removal of the lewd anime games is just a step to the removal of other lewd games, and from then on who knows where it'll go? I don't want to sound like a fearmonger here, but the possible removal of witcher 3 absolutely proves my point on this. I hope you all can change your tune since it's not just the anime games now.

First the came for the animes, and I did not speak out, for I hate the animes. Then they came for the furries, and I did not speak out, for I hate the furries. Then they came for Witcher 3, and there was no one left to speak for me.
The worst part of this is the slippery slope it can create. First they start targeting games that have explicitly/directly sexual content, ones that encourage sexual behavior. But then they go on to all games that have sexual content, and that's not a stretch. Hell, they make that intention explicit in the original post. They're also going after games like Mass Effect: Andromeda and The Witcher 3. You give them the victory of taking down a few more intentionally lewd games, and then two months later they're pushing the same rally against games like The Witcher 3, and are succeeding due to Valve's lax as fuck moderation of their platform. They'll see that it's the same issue being arisen again and say "Aight, whatever, we'll give them the warning." You give groups like this an inch and they want five more miles. They're already pushing towards the ridiculous conservative media groups of the 90's and early 2000's except they're already getting shit done this time.
Like three of those things don't belong with the rest. These sound like the kinds of assholes who support sodomy laws and bullshit like that.
Apparently vanilla porn and sex oriented business and prostitution are on the same level of awful as fucking child porn according to these people. For fuck's sake.
2018 Dirty Dozen List So if you're wondering why is only certain games being targetted, ones that come from smaller devs but are popular, check this out, from the very same group who harassed valve Scientology style
I'm torn. On the one hand; this is really dumb and didn't directly affect me. On the other hand; some of the horror stories such as Sakura games terrifies me of the indie VN scene.
Yeah, these aren't feminists at all. They're just a conservative anti-porn group masquerading as them. Campaigners For SESTA See It As A First Step To Stomping Out Por.. https://twitter.com/peppertsuki/status/997530014299107328
Time to remove Source Filmmaker
What a tweest
the feeling when conservatives masquerading as feminists did something more effective at hitting sexy video games than conversatives and sjws combined
I sure like how religious zealots keep preaching that abstinence until marriage is fine, when it actually contributes to STD infections and teenage pregnancy far more than Rapelay has ever contributed to rapes. Abstinence doesn't solve anything, it's just a lazy parent excuse for procrastinating on "the talk". You might as well try to stop people from getting a driver's license before 30.
Some people here is forgetting that legalized prostitution have brought nothing but a rise into the influx of human traffiking and made harder for victims to escape that world "as they have been regulated and even have sindicates" ( actually the numbers in Germany and the Netherlands of regulated sex workers are really low, and the main heads of the sindicates are pimps implicated in not only human traffiking and sexual abuse, but also drug and even firearm violence ). Also let's not forget how pornography is distorting heavily the image of sex and relationships. Maybe porn directly will not make you automatically treat women like shit, but little by little it erodes your mind with such thoughts ( same goes with the "locker boys room talk", "grab her by the pussy", etc ). Without a decent Sex Ed and an improvement to the women rights, these problems will endure on time. ----------------- Also I have no problems on some games being removed by this ( even if the organization who started this seems to be right wingers ). Remember that some of these games really reinforces this idea, plus many others just cash in due fanservice and little content ( Prime example being the Sakura VN series ). As for other titles, it is up to be reviewed individually if they really can be excused ( The Witcher 3 ) or they are just there just for fanservice ( Metro: Last Light ).
Legalizing prostitution where the sex workers get punished is fucked tho, whether they're in that position voluntarily or not I just want my wholesome anime lesbian game dude lol. This group also works against the porn industry "for bad practices" by targeting self employed people in porn. Always fuck over the little guy just so you can bully for your bullshit moralist agenda
Game "removal" on steam doesn't work like that. They don't fully delete the entry and everything that comes with it, if you have the game you get to keep it. There's even some titles out there that can still be downloaded even though the store pages are gone, for instance that one VR recreation of Deckard's apartment from Blade Runner can still be installed with a shortcut despite the fact it was DMCA'd to hell and back.
Fuck you're right lmao https://i.imgur.com/vkzMEl1.png
So for the developers of the games to actually fix this is to deliver the adult material with the patches which don't fall under steams jurisdiction e.g. similar to mods.
I hope it gets removed, The less porno anime games on Steam the better Sick of seeing that trash on the front page all the time
Isn't that what they've been doing? I don't own either Huniepop or any of the Nekopara games but I distinctly remember reading some nine hundred guides on how to acquire the patch to re-add the sex scenes in Nekopara. Despite that, they're still getting yelled at. Hell, if the Reddit posts are true, Valve literally approved the devs of Huniepop saying "hey theres no porn here but if you go to our website and download this thingy here you can add it back in". I don't get it.
It's Valve, their "official statements" (comments on reddit) vary according to who made them since they have no real coordinated PR. One dev may be fine with adult games on Steam, one may not.
Calling all the games that Valve's shitting on here porn games is like saying a movie is a porno because it has a sex scene. Plenty of the games that Valve's demanding get censored have little sexual content and it's certainly not a focus. I dunno why something should be gone just because you dislike it anyways. I bet at least half the games you love to play on Steam would be gone if I were to somehow force Valve to only allow games I like on the platform. And you'd get up in arms over it at that point since it directly affects you rather than dismissing it because it's something that doesn't appeal to you. In Kindred Spirits' case, MangaGamer went out of their way to run all of the most explicit stuff past Valve reps, in person from what I was reading earlier too, and still got okayed. So Valve's being extremely inconsistent here and giving incredibly mixed signals when their response thus far is "it doesn't adhere to the guidelines," since they've previously stated it does.
Nice, a lot of bullshit but not a lot of sources. Why even post in this thread with totally irrelevant claims? As for other titles, it is up to be reviewed individually if they really can be excused ( The Witcher 3 ) or they are just there just for fanservice ( Metro: Last Light ). Reviewed by whom? How do you know if something is fanservice or just bad story telling? Why can't the consumer decide what he wants to see?
Is the ignore button that hard to find? https://i.imgur.com/DfQumLo.png
Did that the day that feature was added, But it's limited to 3 entries so it doesn't catch everything
There is that thing called the Entertainment Software Rating Board, and its equivalent the Pan European Game Information board, as well as some other such as the Computer Entertainment Rating Organization, which are set to review videogame related content submitted to them in order to determine what content the game offers and what audience is the most appropriate for that type of content, typically by age demographic.
Age ratings already exist on steam. He talks about outright removal.
Ganerumo posted: And criminalized prostitution has lead to prostitutes getting murdered in back alleys because they can't actually do their job in proper work conditions. Actually not when you prosecute the clients and help the victims reaching for help, north europe is an example with it. Honestly I would like this to be expanded into another polemic games, but knowing how Valve works, I guess they will leave the algoritms at just "delete all games with tags: anime, nsfw, vn" because you know, why use humans when you can let the machines ban games with not NSFW content like is happening right now ( apparently they are getting rid of games which have a big number of reports, why the trolls always have the easy way to make their mess around )?
