• HuniePop and other adult games facing removal from Steam after complaints

Someone compiled a list of all the games confirmed to be affected by this.
I'm tired of seeing shitty roguelikes on the front page but you don't see me campaigning a crusade to get them removed from Steam.
Neither is he.
I hope that everyone that is happy with this move from Valve because "finally! anime is trash haha" understand that this can become an awful precedent. Do you want to games like DOOM get removed from the store because are too violent? The Witcher has sex scenes, do you want them to be removed too? I don't like Blizzard games, but I respect the people that enjoy them, i dont go saying "I hope every single Blizzard game gets deleted from internet, i am tired of stupid Reaper memes" Everyone has different tastes, learn to respect them.
hOLY SHIT you mean not the entirety of the hentai inventory is getting removed like how every media is making up to be? Now I'm even more curious why only these select games are targeted.
Everyone sorta ignored my post, so I'm posting this again 2018 Dirty Dozen List it's an international anti porn group that harasses other companies scientology style if they don't do what they want. Gee, I wonder why the popular but small indie devs are getting targeted rather specifically, almost like they're in this "dirty dozen" list along with another bullshit list, mainly because they're so easy to attack, unlike the absolute giants that are triple A games and companies
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeMdPxXfEIM Jim Sterling made a video covering this.
I'm not sure it is NCOSE behind this, just taking credit for it. Only a couple of the games on their list were actually targeted. And several that weren't on their list were. Plus they've been at this campaign for years. What changed?
Umm... You feeling alright there, Paul? He literally says, very first sentence, "I hope it gets removed." I don't think you can be much more "campaigning to get them removed" than literally saying "I hope they get removed."
i hope these violent games like DOOM get removed from steam. the less gory, ultra-violent games on steam the better for our children who would otherwise go off and probably do a school shooting or something after playing them. sick of seeing that trash on the front page all the time.

Tbh I could see where they are coming from even without titty patches. Any third party patch lacks valves verification. What's to stop someone from pushing a titty patches update that includes malware or a keylogger or what have you and valve taking the fall for it since it was on steam?
So a friend and I play a game with these where we just randomly send each other random anime titty games for fun. Rules are it has to be $10 or less and... well that's it. We expect each other to play it once, even if it means holding the space bar to skip through the novels. I have a good bit of trash on my account from it. This is really going to kill this thing we've had going for years now.
Uhhh, what? What kind of an insult is that?
Where is that whole THINK OF THE CHILDREN mocking shit even coming from ? That's not what the guy said, that's not what 99.9% of this thread said. The only people who made this an issue of morals and THE KIDS are that one batshit insane group of people who claimed this was all their doing (which is doubtful and has yet to be proven). Making a point by equivalence only works if you're actually doing an equivalence, otherwise it's just a strawman.
Spooky scary adults looking at porn, how awful.
What's to stop that from happening to literally any game with mods, including Valve's own games? That doesn't make any sense.
It's the same vein of tyranny. I cannot fathom why Valve is actually doing this, but seriously, they need to grow a fucking pair.
Holy shit if this situation has said anything, it's that Valve have no fucking clue what they are doing with Steam. not to say that we don't already know that

When the biggest digital game store is run by a company with the flat structure. Steam was Valve's master plan though, it all started with HL2 needing Steam. They thought it was the future of games and they were right.
what would be the point of valve doing this whole thing if its not in case of "THINK OF THE CHILDREN ", the possible outrage from people that steam distributes games with sexual content, and the only age "gate" it has in place is easily gotten past by anyone that has the ability to lie? if people gave as much of a shit about extreme violent content as much as they do about sexual content, it would be games like doom in the spotlight instead. it doesnt even have to be violent content, theyre just singling out some games while other games have just as much, if not more sexual content. huniepop barely has any full blown sexual content even when patched, most of what it has is just nudity in CG form. i havent played witcher, but from what i can tell it has just as much nudity, and has a hell of a lot more implied sex while conveniently obscuring the actual sex occuring. i dont have anything against witcher or huniepop, but you cant pick and choose like that. i doubt the people that are going "woo! no more anime porn game!" would be just as cheerful if witcher were on the chopping block instead.
The fuck is going on anymore?
and as expected, its all been just more bad miscommunication on valves part. what else is new
Seriously Valve doesn't even communicate well with their business partners. It's ridiculous
MangaGamer and Sekai Project also received the email: https://twitter.com/sekaiproject/status/997988275552956417 https://twitter.com/MangaGamer/status/997984334480052226 I hope this means that the games can stay on Steam with minimal changes.
Agreeing with someone else's decision is hardly a crusade. It's pretty passive.
So masterpieces like Huniepop and Nekopara can't stay on Steam? Oh no. At least I won't be seeing [Generic Anime Visual Novel/RPG with Tits] plastered all over my home screen because I bought a couple VNs.
To be fair, Nekopara is a damn fine game for its target audience. Though to be fair, even though I have a soft spot for VN's in general I found out playing Nekopara that I was not their target audience. Anyway, glad to see Valve hitting the breaks. I'm guessing that one of two things happened: 1) They realized the complaints were made by a group with a severely flawed agenda. 2) The outraged caused by this fiasco was a LOT louder than the vocal minority against these games. Either way, here's hoping things stay as they are. Games have long since left the realm of being just for kids, consenting adults should be allowed to choose what content to consume.
How much do you want to bet this is just Valve backpedaling on their decision ?
