I mean, that's certainly something I've seen. But most people who identify that way are doing so because they legitimately think that describes them best.
lol I thought someone might say that, maybe a bad example but if someone is born with their skin inside-out, born with one kidney, born without eyelids, born with three arms or two heads, we don't start saying "humans can either be born with one or two heads.. two or three arms". Obviously you can go in after the fact and say "this person has _____ properties", ex. identifying/classifying a hermaphrodite, but we don't go around teaching "There are three categories: people with penises, people with vaginas, people with both" because it's a rare deformity and isn't aligned with the intended biology of a human being.
Intersex is a scientifically recognized thing though. It describes individuals who have a mix of sexual characteristics - like their phenotype not matching their chromosomes, stuff like that. So I think that pokes a pretty big hole in your argument.
Hm, idk I feel like I just need to have a big think about this whole topic because I honestly don't really know how to feel. I honestly don't understand the necessity to have more gender classifications than man, woman or neither. Non-binary I kinda get, but even then if I'm being honest, in my anecdotal experience most non-binary people I've met were just obviously male/female but liked to do something typically thought of as being feminine/masculine, which I don't think is a topic gender needs to encompass. If I'm a man with long hair and I like to paint my fingernails, I don't really see why I need to now be acknowledged by the rest of the world as "them" and have my maleness completely washed out by the fact that I do something girly. I just don't really get what the point of it all is. To me, gender is just a convenient way of classifying general trends that will hold for the large majority of people you interact with; they're nice guidelines for navigating the world. Obviously there are exceptions, and people have navigated those exceptions successfully long before there was 30 different ways of calling them. I really am not coming from a place of malice with any of this, if someone could make it click in my head what the "truth" about the gender debate is I'd be very happy just to be right, but I've yet to have a discussion about gender that changed my mind tbh.
man who the fuck cares I just want Lando to give Han a big ol' slap on the ass
Should we treat individuals with health issues differently?
I don't know very many non-binary people. The ones I do know, the situation is basically: presenting as male makes them dysphoric, presenting as female also makes them feel dysphoric. So they choose "neither" and that's how they're most comfortable.
People who get really upset when you say there's more than two genders need to crack open a high school biology book or something
