I'm well aware, but they are pretty huge components, and it makes the engine so notably different that most people don't even realize it's the Source engine. Qualifies as an overhaul in my book.

UPDATE: As it turns out, this was a case of misplaced expectations. Jay Frechette confirmed on ResetEra that the update is going to be related to Titan Toon. “Going to set expectations here,” he said. “For those of you not familiar with TitanToons, it’s an animated series that one of our awesome animators, Moy Parra produces in his free time. It’s been a while since he’s made anything new for it and folks have been asking for an update. The teaser is for an update to his YouTube channel. This doesn’t have anything to do with any games we’re working on.” So, uh… that’s that. I hope we still do get a Titanfall 3 eventually, though. *sigh*
