Stop buying gas powered lawn mowers and other lawn equipment. Lithium ion batteries output the same power as gasoline now.
I have a contract with my electric company where each kWh my house consumes they will generate a kWh with their massive wind farms and put it into the Texas electrical grid. Once the plug in hybrid electric cars get cheap my house will be totally carbon neutral.
I swear we had some kind of hyper aggressive super grass at the ranch. We’d have to mow 16 acres of grass over a 3 day period every week or two. No chemicals or food or anything. It’s like the Emu War but with grass and every yard work tool known to man.
That just sounds like a pointless Sisyphean effort. Any reason why it couldn't just be left alone to grow?
I live on the second floor of an apartment. My lawn is air.
Come at me.
For years i have thought that lawns are just a massive waste of arable land and envinroment.
Good thing, that in Finland lawns are not (yet) considered that much of a status symbol as in USA, and the most expensive and prestigeous neighbourhoods tend to have rocky lush gardens with tiny patches of "grass" full of clovers, weeds and various grass plants. Although some more recent neighbourhoods tend to follow the American ideal more with big lawns and pretty much nothing else.

Half of it was the front lawn growing around our longass 800 foot driveway and if left unmanaged, it somehow developed into fucking vines that wrapped around the fences of the horse ring and their play area. The other half is out back by the barn where there’s an even bigger fenced area for them to go crazy in. Also there’s a pool at the back of the house and to get basically anywhere in a short distance, you have to go across grass.
The grass is basically everywhere and if you let it get too tall, things like ticks and other unwanted pests become a problem.
well damn i guess lock me away
In a few years: Are Lazy Millenials Ruining Our Lawns?
my stepfathers has both rock yards instead of lawns but he has to deal with pulling grass because of his neighbors watering their lawn.
Why did I read this as lawyers.
But yeah I love rock yards, especially if you're in an area that rains a lot, looks amazing when wet.
