I know he's not nearly as liked as TB was, but I say Jim Sterling also does a good job for consumer advocacy. Plus he and TB were friends. I always thought they made a great pair.
The Warframe community is in mourning right now, to say the least.
I feel like Jim Sterling lacks any kind of class, TB always seemed like a dude you could respect which helped a lot I think.
TB has had some classless moments as well (many of which were earlier in his career and which he has since apologized for), but I'll agree that overall he was the more... professional of the two. Again, I know Sterling isn't everyone's cup of tea and he can be rather juvenile and obnoxious at times, but having followed both for years now, I feel his heart's in the same place as TB's was.
https://youtu.be/eDA37BmvNwM Probably my favorite out of his myriad of videos.
I've watched every single co-optional podcast for the last several years. It's seriously something I get much joy out of tuning into it whether it be live or an archive. It won't be the same without him. His personality was the yin to Jesse & Dodger's yang, they complimented so well.
I cant believe there are people out there celebrating his death on twitter, It makes me sick to see. God damn it.
I've bought so many games after watching his reviews. One Finger Death Punch, Assault Android Cactus, Rock of Ages.... I like to think that his spirit lives on in many Steam Libraries and that he smiles upon us whenever we enter the options menu of a game and adjust the FOV slider. RIP
So sorry to hear. I've enjoyed his reviews a lot and he had a rare level of insight.
First thing I read after just waking up, wish it was just a dread and I could continue sleeping. RIP TB, will miss him and his voice.
Another wonderful old gem in which TB unveils to us the secrets of his success https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRAJeEBGECw
Didn't know he had such a wide reach in the gaming community, half of reddit's front page is dedicated to him https://i.imgur.com/WfBayVA.png He's one of the few people I'm subscribed to on youtube cause his wtf and port report videos gave a ton of good info without spoiling much. Sad to see him go so soon after his surgery but at least he got some pain relief and time with family in his last few days
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=321M7rURNIY One of my favorite videos of his. Just him and his wife having a great time and they were so funny together. Rest well John.
It was really awful seeing him come under more and more pressure from the cancer over the past few years. He did a great job continuing his work while under the gun but it still affected him and his content. It's been kind of a gutwrenching experience watching this pain set in, but, really, really appreciated him and his work at his best, he's one of the only game reviewers i would watch even if i had no interest in the game being reviewed.
Fuck Cancer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wgVW8E0wU8
I'm just letting it sink in at the moment, I didn't always like the guy, but damn was he not one of the most devoted human being. A good guy overall, and someone we desperately needed. This is going to hit me pretty hard when it finally sinks in.
Its gonna suck seeing his steam curator page just stop updating all together.
I just want it to stop
Are they trying to bring up gamergate again? Despite the fact everyone has basically moved on? The few I've seen kept talking about how he was pro-gamergate and therefore a misogynistic monster etc.
I love how he'll be immortalized on Twitch because of the LUL emote. He'll forever be laughing at the stupid shit that happens there.
what a thing to wake up to. RIP, this is genuinely sad.
Jim Sterling's video topics are sometimes interesting and informative, but his internet persona is awful, the snobbish way he talks about the subject matter isn't relaxing. Totalbiscuit's personality is more charismatic and calm compare to his, and that's saying something.
people are celebrating his death I'm so sick
Looks like almost all of it is in relation to that "go die of cancer" issue he had YEARS ago, which he went out of his way to fix.
I've mostly just seen that posted by edgelord trolls trying to get a rise out of people. The more genuine people do seem to be mostly talking about gamergate shit, or the traps thing.
Damn that's sad. I remember the first video with him talking about discovering it.

I wans't prepared for this. What the fuck.
What really confuses me is that there is even a few alt rights pissing on him. What the fuck did he do to them?
He was a huge asshole. But thanks to him pc gaming got better over the years. His legacy should continue.
