jesus christ that hits harder than a freight train
He was a good man who was cruelly taken away too soon. RIP
I was pretty pissed at him after the traps him but this news makes all of that, and any other political disagreements, seem so petty in comparison. Nobody deserves this, and when it came to gaming his opinion was always so valuable and so well-founded. Such a fighter for the consumers. Nobody can replace him.
Fuck, this genuinely made me sad. Rest in peace you magnificient bastard.
He wasn't an asshole, and I hate that in every TB thread you have to read that. If you think TB was an asshole, you just didn't pay attention. It saddens me, because there are currently so many lies spreading around again with tweets being taken out of context or excluding apologies on purpose.
A workhorse to the very bloody end.
At the very least I'm glad he spent time with his parents who dropped everything they were doing in UK and visited him in a heartbeat not long ago.
All of this shit I keep hearing about him organizing harassment mobs seriously upsets me. Even during his younger days when he was much more brash, he would never advocate harassment.
This is so very sad. There's a family friend of mine who got breast cancer at 35 a few years ago and is currently in her death throes. I can't bear this news, really. It's so sudden and unexpected. I'm tearing up just thinking of all of this.
I still remember his video about Garry's Incident, and he brought me a lot of joy over the years. RIP TotalBiscuit.

And I thought Steve Jobs yelling "OH WOW" over and over as his final words was crazy.
Dude was literally on the co-optional podcast a matter of days before this happened too... can only imagine how he is feeling.
I've watched him for so long I feel like I just lost a family member.
Still though, what a way to go out. To continue doing the job you love even after you had lost consciousness for the final time. Talk about commitment.
He probably still kept going mentally even after his body shut down - not even lucid enough to realize his own death - right up until his brain just ran out of energy and stopped functioning.
I don't even see it as him still doing his job to the very end, rather that his love for games was so central to who he was that he never stopped thinking about them.
There was a lot of this fabrication going around in 2014 and 15. Not just about him, but just about everyone who disagreed with how the media was pushing social justice in a very lazy and unsustainable way. Like, enough of that subject in here, but half of the people who got lumped in with harassers were just people who agreed with social equality, but disagreed with the lazy narrative and the frankly very shitty solutions these California butterflies were thinking up. A good chunk of harassment back then was false-flagging. People got busted left and right for Harassing themselves with alts and literally screwing up the basic move of switching accounts before responding to themselves. Actual social justice and equality was never the centre of the initial conflict. That only became a point of contention after the Alt-Right moved in, in 2015/16... but enough of that. This isn't the time or the place, but just remember being critical of your sources and look at what they stand to gain by misleading progressive people.
I didn't follow him closely these past years, but i don't believe he organized a harassment mob and if he did, i think someone is playing very loose with the definition of harassment. But i could be wrong.
Can't believe some bellends are applauding the death of a popular gaming critic from cancer as some kind of victory for their 'side', I mean, what in the name of all the fuck in the universe does that kind of puerile shit even achieve? Besides making it look like they need a taste of cancer themselves.
I was never the biggest fan of TB’s own content, but I’d Ben lying if I didn’t get so many hours of enjoyment from the Co-optional Podcast. I remember taking on Saturday afternoon to watch every single animated video in a row, laughing my ass off along the way.
While TB may be gone, he has left a legacy no one will forget. What he did for gaming, and especially PC gaming is something I always be thankful for.
Rest easy, TB and May Britannia watch over you.
I didn't follow him very closely but I know he was an active voice in many important issues and it feels like a major blow to the gaming community Rest in Peace, TB.
They say a man dies twice, when he breathes his last and when his name is forgotten. This guy's earned his immortality. Godspeed, TB.
Reading about people celebrating this man's death is one thing, but actually being friends with one of those people is just surreal. Granted, he's just an edgy 18-year-old but goddamn, have some respect for the person who tried his best to protect you as a consumer.
I may have not watched TB's content as much, but I recognize his influence and respect him for it.
The people who are celebrating his death will be the ones easily forgotten when they kick the bucket themselves. It fucking sucks that he has to go at such a young age.
Godspeed, you magnificent bastard.
It's hard to see him go. At the very least, he won't have to continue to battle against his illness. He was one of the only reviewers whose opinion I trusted and I hope his wife and family find peace in this tragedy.
Rest In Peace, John.
Goddamn, I was not ready for this. I used to watch his WTF Is- series all the time in high school through college. I can’t believe it.
Just. Fuck cancer. I can’t even believe this right now.
