I hope Totalbiscuit isn't suffering anymore. I hope his spirit has found it's calm place to stay... without torment, without pain. Totalbiscuit did so much to the entire gaming community and we all can be only grateful for that.
I've seen what a loved one's death can do to someone. My grandfather died because of gradual damage from chemotherapy. My grandmother is still scarred for life, and while she's going back to her normal life, it's still hard even for me to accept that my granddad is no more.. My condolences to Genna. I hope she manages to overcome the grief. I hope she will live on in peace.
And screw cancer. This disease can just go to hell.
I only found out about this this morning, really sad to see this. I very much enjoyed most of the content he made, it was great to see someone who was extremely passionate about the things he liked and would put so much effort into his videos.
Unfortunately i've read quite a few topics there before where any mention of him bought out a certain group of people who not just disliked him, but more said he should be hated and used something he once said being taken out-of-context to try to convince others to do the same, or would just say "He's a gamergater" as if that's the end-all to anything said regarding him. I really don't understand why that sort of thing seems so prevalent there, why does it happen?
It's a similar situation with the BFV trailer where if you take issue with the lack of historical authenticity with certain aspects then they somehow twist that into "You just don't want women in the game".
He's introduced me to a lot of games that I absolutely love and probably never would have checked out without him. And by extension that introduced me to a lot of cool people related to those games - communities, content creators, devs, etc. I only ""chatted"" with TB once very briefly, in a short argument about a random rock texture in a "WTF is...?" comment section. Not even kidding. I still have no idea why he felt like responding to a throwaway "I don't think that texture looks that great" line within my overall innocuous comment, I was very perplexed. But I guess without that nitpicky nerdy passion and nitpicking he wouldn't have been who he was. So I guess in that way it was quite like him!
That so many people are expressing their sympathies while also qualifying them with "I didn't always agree with him" or "I didn't really watch his content" I think shows that, content aside, a lot of people still respected him as a person, for his passion and integrity and drive for improvement.
I'll really miss him.
People on those sites have been indoctrinated by stupid and anyone who voices opposition gets banned. This really is not the thread to go into more detail on those websites though, they're in the minority anyways and right now its nicer just to see people talk about TB himself.
ESL paid tribute: totalbuiscuit
I really don't feel like this is the time or place to discuss GG. The last thing anyone who's morning TB wants to discuss is that double sided shitshow.

This guy has the right idea.
How fucked in the head do you have to be to not only celebrate someone's death, but to send fucked up messages to his mourning family and friends.
He will be sorely missed, by me especially. Watched his videos for days on end at times and learned so much. So sad to see him go from cancer, I hope he passed peacefully without pain and with family and friends to support him
It's less discussing GG and more laying out as to how various actors in that shitshow managed to sow the seeds of hatred for TB and what their motivations for doing so were.
Even if they were utterly unjustified in doing so, TB didn't deserve any of the shit he got.
The people who are dancing on TBs grave don't anger me tbh. I can only feel pity towards them. At the end of the day they are the ones with completely fucked morals and behaviour. What a great life that must be.
I never really liked his format and was never really a fan but cancer's a real bitch to fight. RIP
Keep in mind people threatened to murder his wife and child before his eyes just because he made passive comments about GamerGate while it was on-going. People are douchenozzles on the internet when they can say whatever they want, and TB being as big as he was only added fuel for people to do it.
Damn, when I heard all these warnings of people bashing TotalBiscuit post-death, I expected little more than some innocuous attempts to upset others for a laugh.
This right here has absolutely flabbergasted me.
David Crooks on Twitter
A developer at EA who worked on Mass Effect: Andromeda? A game TotalBiscuit defended even.
As someone who can't help but giggle at death jokes and may have even contributed to the propagation of such antics, I still find it appalling to sincerely advertise the joy of a person's death just because he wasn't to your liking.
More reasons I don’t buy anything from EA.
Hope that douchenozzle never works in the industry again.
Imagine shitting on a dead man simply because they didn't like certain aspects of your game.
How much do you have to hate someone to shit on them like this just hours after they died... inconceivable...
What a genuine cunt. I'm glad people seemed to have called him out on it, his account has gone private.
I don't see him staying in the company after this, honestly. Nobody would want an employee like that.
It’s already on know your meme lmfao.

Jeez. I do wonder how he is going to respond to the inevitable backlash after making such horrible statement-----

...oh
On a completely unrelated side note; I have some insider information that there might be a spot of Systems Programmer opening up at EA fairly soon.
Rev up those résumes~
what a garbage person.
The quality of the staff reflects the quality of the company - what an ass :/
What a fucking psychopath.
The way he tries to defend himself as if he's the one who is in the right is infuriating. The whole "But what about when he criticized two games I worked on?!?!?!" is insane!
Oh man R.i.p
"Game developer spits on game critic's grave after wondering why he was criticized."
We are House Biscuit - we do not preorder..
Wow....I figured there would be more of a warning before this happened. Not gonna lie, I'm upset. The video game community just lost one hell of a man. I loved his wit, how ridiculously thorough he was when discussing a subject he was interested in, and the fact he was always striving to be better, all while battling muther fucking cancer, which frequently ruins even the best of us.
Knowing he fought tooth and nail for years to keep going, maintaining a positive attitude. It's awe inspiring. But then you realize even that wasn't enough. Cancer is a cold hearted bitch.
Rest In Peace you magnificent bastard. You will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to Genna and the family.
