This just got interesting.
I was not expecting to see a potential prank of the century today
why the hell did ukraine think this was a good idea?
He got us good.
One day earlier, somewhere in Russia:
"So the plan is in place. Tomorrow we will assassinate Babchenko as he leaves his home. The gunmen with flee the scene and take refuge at-"
"Uh sir, Babchenko just turned up dead"
"..........."
"Oh wait, no he isn't"
"OH COME ON BLYAT!"

What the fuck ruse cruise are we living in?
Hollywood is going bankrupt within 4 years, they can't write and film this shit fast enough to keep up with it actually happening.
was getting killed part of his plan
So if I understood it right, the assassination attempt was real, but the guy who was supposed to be the killer just went to the Ukrainian internal security force. And after that, the rest was just a ruse.
So about that protection of journalists and Putin criticizing thing ?
I guess they had to go through with the assassination to try and track who the intermediate reports success to and gather additional info
What the fuck
Played like a fucking fiddle.
What an insane story. I can't believe they pulled off something so insane.
Not really. He was about to be murdered for real. Ukrainians saved his life and proved Kremlin guilty.
I bet this guy messaged Putin on Steam and said 'Got em'
Neo-Nazis are actually very pro-Russia because compared to the West; Russia is a strong (as in authoritarian) illiberal country with a largely white (slavic) population, and a history of brutally dealing with Islamic terrorists. Russia also has a very large Neo-Nazi population of their own, eclipsing the rest of Europe's, who want to take over the country by force but of course never actually will.
I guess the lesson here is don't outsource your assassination contracts?
They also don't really have to take over the country by force anyway since all of them operate with the tacit and some of theme with the explicit approval of the Putinist regime.
Why did the killer decide to go double agent though?
He was Ukrainian Military, either the FSB file on him underestimated his loyalty, or he was working undercover.
Or this entire story is a complete garbage. we're just got buffoned by them, and yet you believe their second word?
Ukrainian neo nazis hate russians lmao
Yeah no, in Ukraine the people usually linked to neo-nazism (Right Sector, Azov and other militia batallions etc.) absolutely despise Russia.
Separatists close to Russia on the other hand usually define themselves as "pro-Soviet"
A Reasonance Cascade?
This.... Doesnt contradict my words?
I'm guessing he's thinking about it from the perspective of American neo-nazis who love Russia.
America’s neo
My six years covering neo
