Back in the day I remember one platform had to pay for map packs, but other platforms got them for free. I think PC got them free for a bit longer than console, and console had to pay for them after CoD4.
Well none of that is true anymore, they did a complete 180.
Battlefront 2's failure is probably why Battlefield V doesn't have lootboxes.
Protip: if on PC, don't buy them. In the end, you'll find more people to play with.
Does anybody that plays these games even give a shit about community fragmentation considering a new CoD comes out every year?
Who even puts seasoning on fish and chips?
I've never considered micro-transactions to be "buy virtual currency to buy things". Just really small pieces of content being sold for virtual or real money. In that case TF|2 does have them as you can buy the prime Titan models and weapon skins individually. But camo cosmetics are all packed up nice and cheap.
I despise virtual currencies so much. Still a bit rustled from Nintendo and MS using them for the Wii and 360. I'm thinking that I still have a few hundred points that I can't use tied to Nintendo thanks to that shit.
If only the left in the Campaign, I would have given two shits about this really, but if they're going to focus on multiplayer so much and then make it worse when DLC comes out, well, fuck you.
That's a microtransaction. Virtual currency is just a way of making them even scummier.
Activision being greedy cunts again, what a surprise.
Woulden't mind this so much if I could just pick up the season pass later when the first DLC comes out...
As is, I may wait to get this until well after release, unless Blackout mode manages to wow me.
