Chris Hardwick (Nerdist, @midnight) accused of emotional/sexual abuse by ex

I give it 2 days before his side is equally backed... Actually, maybe no. In this day and age, he's just gonna get sailed down the river with no recourse. No actual facts will land from any side but the current climate being what it is means his career is the lesser loss in everyone's eyes.
I still find him weird FYI, but your stance is kinda reminiscent of the current almost cultist reaction to the slightest hint of a woman alleging abuse. I'm not saying he did or didn't, but how about we don't jump the gun until there are actual facts instead of a gaggle of hollywood hipsters nodding and cackling?
I only knew of him casually, like just from watching videos or convention panels that just happened to have him in them, but I never found him annoying.
If this is true, then that's horrible.
Look at the US president, we aren't impressed by man children any more, it's not this wild fringe thing lmao.
and he just lost his show on AMC as well as moderation duties for BBCA and AMC panels at San Diego Comic Con this year

Then it does, in fact, need to be proven. Objectively and factually.
She is talking exactly as a typical abuse victim does, slow your roll.
So I didn't think this was worth making a new thread for, but apparently break up text's between Chris Hardwick and Chloe Dykstra have surfaced, and they paint a very different picture than the one presented by Chloe's essay.
tbh it's still pretty unclear
you can read that as him being genuine.
but also he promises to not speak ill will of her, but then has also thrown shit on her on the podcast and his live tours
those aren't texts BETWEEN Chris and Chloe, those are texts AT them. i don't see a conversation here, i see a questionable at best sourced series of messages. in addition, if you've been gaslit/emotionally controlled to the level that she claims, you'd likely look back and ignore all those bad days as she herself said
I did that, but I also know innocent until proven guilty. The guy can be (and is) a huge creep despite his girlfriend seemingly lying about this.
On the one hand if the accusations are true then this guy absolutely deserves the shit hes gotten.
However, they are just that, acusations. This could be a case of a vengeful ex who was desperate enough to fake abuse claims. Women tend to be believed no matter what and as a result they wield a lot of power and can ruin lives.
you're a fucking coward
I've only seen him host the contest panels at Blizzcon. He was probably the best host Blizzard had, shame if he really turns out to be a dirt bag.
I did the exact same thing. Always got a weird fucking vibe from him. Don't think i made any statement about believing him guilty or not.
Hmm, interesting. Three other exes defending him.
And all three older than Chloe. Not outrageous to think that a relationship between a 46 and 29 year old to be considerably different than one with a 45, 43, or 33 year old.
His mother in law, Patty Hearst has also spoken in his defense, and considering her past, she would probably be very sensitive to signs of control and abuse.
So is this a "jilted ex" case or did he have some major shift of character with this girlfriend in particular?
Update, he's back on the show:

Good for him. This is how it should be handled. Suspend, investigate, then either return them to work or fire them. Don't just fire then try to wipe your hands clean.
Kind of scary still that one accusation from a unreliable source from something possibly years ago(either it didn't happen or exaggerated to the extreme) was enough to get him pulled from all major network shows. I get that it's a rep thing to keep a clean table with cable networks, but when the investigation isn't even done yet it makes you look desperate to look as positive as possible and make your clients look expendable. "Be the best you can be on our show...unless someone digs up your years old dirty laundry not even work related then your asset is gone."
