That's a thing over here. You can bring any drugs in for testing and they'll tell you about it's purity etc.

How is this hunting for consumers? He literally came to them and basically turned himself in.
Maybe hunting wasn't the right word, but don't get hung up on semantics. He got arrested for drug possession, which is ineffective in solving drug problems, but financially lucrative in policing and for-profit incarceration. That was the implication.
This wasn't really getting hung up on semantics. Yahnich's post was just totally misleading regardless of whether I agreed with him on it being ineffective or not.
Also I'm not so certain the police really had a choice in the matter anyways. They might be able to ignore lighter drugs like pot but meth is actually a serious issue in a lot of places so they can't simply ignore it when it presents itself to them.
This guy needs help, not public ridicule
Real American priorities shown off here
IIRC in all 50 states in America police officers are required to enforce the law "at their own discretion." a police officer can ignore you committing a crime if they feel it's not worth pursuing, not worth arresting someone / issuing a citation and a court appearance and so on, and are by law free to not enforce the law in some cases.
that being said, in this case, it would be smartest, in my opinion, to confiscate the drugs and demand the person leave or else they'd be arrested for disorderly conduct. a much lesser charge, no lives ruined over possessing a drug, and a chance for them to get help and quit using.
Cops shouldn't be allowed to have to have twitter accounts.
I slightly agree - I don't see a problem with updates like, "High speed chase at X location ended without injury. Suspect in custody." But openly mocking people? Really good way to earn PR guys, just absolutely brilliant.
Fucking idiots.
