I still go to EB Games here Games are sometimes cheaper than what they are online Good example I use often, R6Seige standard is $19.95 on sale, which happens every few months On uplay, the same game is like $30 on sale, or $60 full price The starter edition is $20, and doesn't go on sale... Standard on sale phyiscal is cheaper than online starter 🤨 How EB gets profits from this, no fucken idea
How is EB still alive in this day and age. I pretty much stopped buying from there since like 2008
They ran an expo for a number of years and this year is their first year in it being part of PAX Aus Strange Times
I remember I was in gamestop to pickup GTAV and the people in front of me in line was a mom and her 12 year old son trying to buy the game. The guy working the register was ruthless as fuck explaining what the game entailed, basically trying to dissuade the mom from buying the game for the kid. "You understand that this game includes murder, gun violence, prostitution, strip clubs, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, foul language, organized criminal activities, gang violence, and other mature themes?" And the kid just looks up at the mom and says "Please mommy" I was just laughing in my head about it, poor kid.
Frankly I don't see the issue here. I wouldn't let my 12 year old play GTAV tbh and that kinda shit is up to the parents anyway.
Wonder if it's head buried in the sand but talked to the district manager that was stopping by my local store and he just kinda laughed and said the internet was blowing it out of the water and no ones actually worried. Like the guys been totally honest with me every other time I've seen him so it's got me curious to see if there's something that's not public yet.
Same, I got really sad when i found out my local one died out. I really liked talking to the workers there, it was such a shame to see it shut down.
I don't think a retail game seller can survive these days. They have to resort to Gamestop's tactics to stay competitive, unless they want to be a used game store that sells retro games. Even those stores overcharge compared to eBay so the only way those stay afloat is to host smash tournaments
they own thinkgeek and funko will stock literally anything if it can sell something
You can find some good deals though, like I got a pachimari plush that was 5$ at GS but 30$ without shipping at Blizz shop. Just stick to statues and actually named merch and you can find pretty great deals.
Chances are, he knows just as much as you regarding the subject. I wouldn't expect to hear anything until after the holiday season is over, then we'll probably begin to hear more about it, including any store closings.
God if it wasn't such a shit business I'd actually use it more, I like physical copies for the switch
The way you phrased it as a 'used' pizza makes me think of some disgusting sex act. I'm going to have to read up on that though, because it sounds glorious. To be honest, I stopped going in game shops when they basically started treating PC games like ancient relics in that they're few in number, ludicrously expensive and covered in cobwebs.
Forum poster Kegan worked at a gamestop for awhile and sealed a pizza he was eating before hanging it on a peg with a used sticker just for laughs. It kind of became a meme somehow
FUCKING GAMESTOP
