If you have anything more to go on than a username, sure, I agree. But when we already have completely anonymous people declaring how much they want to gas the Jews and blacks completely anonymously on places like /pol/, who's to say you even have enough personal info even on something like Twitter or even that it's not just some gimmick account and that they have no actual motive? I'm worried about a "crying wolf" effect here.
We all know this is going to be the primarily accepted narrative. Let's not lie to ourselves and assume people won't spin it to fit their side. People were already spouting their pointless speculation before the details were even released and they're too dug in to adapt.
Update 5: Jarrod may be a Berserk fan. What?
Considering how consistently people go “don’t speculate, could be anyone!” in threads about trucks plowing into people, I’m kinda disappointed that facepunch produced a “this is what republicans WANT”-post, as well as basically put the blame on a Milo quote. It might be reasonable, but it’s alsopretty hypocritical. Just wait for info next.
Apparently waiting for information before already going with a narrative is too much to ask for some people, despite being a completely neutral and reasonable thing to do.
To be fair, a fairly prominent right wing cretin just called for reporters to be shot.
Somehow, whenever the left commits the slightest offense, it's always blown up into this huge elephant. Milo Yiannopoulos has actively called for the killing of journalists a few days before the shooting happened, so it's reasonable that we would speculate that it could be connected to this. Nobody in this thread however stated that Milo indeed WAS responsible for it -- which is an incredibly important distinction to make. Furthermore, as more information started coming in, it was becoming clear that this was a targeted attack against the newspaper. And this was indeed the case -- but it ended up being about a nutcase wanting to shut up the news that wasn't associated with Trump. Meanwhile, Sean Hannity and countless Trumptards directly accused Maxine Waters for being responsible for the attack, minutes after the news came in, with no facts backing the statement other than a misinterpreted quote (that, even if it was meant as a call for violence, wouldn't even have made sense, because the newspaper is left-leaning). Also worth noting that she has been receiving death threats the entire week, which is very likely connected to Trump and Fox News' repeated slander on her person. Speculating about who the suspect could be and what his motives were is harmless by comparison.
I’m not blowing anything up, I’m just talking about hypocritical behaviour on part of facepunch. That’s basically the only part users on this forum can control.
I've noticed it's worse since polidicks showed up. That place is nothing but a circle jerk lol.

Milo's remarks were outrageous before the shooting, and they are still outrageous after the shooting, regardless of any impact he may or may not have had. Calling for violence against journalists is simply outrageous, period. I only have one question for Milo Yiannopolis: Now that the thing he "couldn't wait for" has actually happened, and real people are dead, is he as pleased with himself as he predicted? And if not, has he learned any lessons in hindsight or reconsidered what purpose this kind of baseless hyperbole serves, if not a truthful expression of his feelings? Unfortunately though, Milo Yiannopolis is human clickbait and all I would get in return would be a bunch of evasive bullshit. Because Milo Yiannopolis has absolutely nothing to contribute to the betterment of humanity.
I don’t trust like that.
