Which is fucked up because I love playing RL with Xbox players
In Rocket League on PC, matchmaking can put you with Xbox or PS4 players, but not both. When you get console players in your match, they're either all on Xbox or all on PS4. Psyonix has openly stated that they have an internal "switch" in the game that can instantaneously enable full crossplay, but Sony won't let them flick it. So it's not even a technical issue.
I believe it was Rocket League that had them accidentally (but not really :~~) ) leave the console cross platform support live in a patch. Players enjoyed it for the few hours it was up if I recall. Sony were none to pleased about that.
Well, with Switch in the mix now, the pools are now PC/Switch/Xbox or PC/PS4. But yeah, it still stands: any PS4 players in your match and all console players have to be PS4, or if it's one of the other two, PS4 players can't join. But Microsoft and Nintendo get along fine.
