The Monolith! We destroy that and this is over! CHARGE!
You can see lipids floating on the surface of the water, so it's safe to assume that it's their remains or a combination of water and bodily substances.
I don't know, those two don't look the same. Similar, but not the same...
Gross, it's full of corpse juice.
You see, the filtration system of the sarcophagus was not designed to accommodate 3 skeletons, so their piss accumulated over the last 2000 years or so.
AWAKEN MY MASTERS
Jesus, some people were hoping it'd be the body of Alexander The Great, talk about high expectations.
And then some other people thought it might release a curse...it's 2018 and some people still think like uneducated morons.
dont fuck around with curses because thats how the first people who say 'what bullshit' die
You expect when they open these things it's harken back to the days of finding Tutankhamen, they'll find perfectly preserved remains surrounded by precious trinkets and ancient artifacts.
Instead they got Death's shit bucket.
Gravelord Nito's poopy potty.
"What the hell is that noise?"
*E1M1 starts playing in the distance, followed by screaming*
3 People in one sarcophagus is quite unusual.
This is viral marketing for a live-action Courage the cowardly dog movie. Calling it now.

Imagination of a curse being inside it is one thing, but I'm wondering if these people believe that to be a possibility, rather than just having a laugh, I'm not sure, but given how people are I wouldn't put it past some people to believe it.
In regards to it being the body of Alexander The Great, that's wishful thinking and half, sure it would be amazing if it was something as historical as that, but it's wishful thinking really, at best.
Once we invented scanning tech that can penetrate rock and metal I think the argument was revived.
If it was up to me I probably would wait for when the time is right, or "infinity" as you say it. I'd be fine learning a little bit at a time as tech improves, even if that meant never exposing the contents fully.
But archeology will always be about compromises and the line has to be drawn in the sand somewhere. You draw it at dynamite and crowbars, I draw it to future tech from the next few decades. There are no right answers really and it's finders keepers in reality
Says in the article. It's water that found its way in which then cause the corpses to decompose.
So, both.
It's probably one dude and his two wives, who could have been buried alive with his corpse.
Cringefd so hard my shoulders touched.

classic
A lot of old story elements are more or less evolutionary fables. Cursed graves are probably inspired by threat of disease and obv grave robbing being really rude in most cultures.
So some people still have drives to believe that shit unironically
The real problem is if the cainites get their hands on it and revive the antediluvian within. a single drop of blood spilled unto the remains could usher forth a new millenia of darkness
Eh, we've got the technology to deploy a miniature sun anywhere in the world in 90 minutes or less. I don't think we have to worry about any antediluvians anytime soon. We may unincorporate a city or two dealing with them, but compared to letting them run amok, it's a small price to pay.

UV lights do nothing to VTM vampires. It has to be the sun itself. If an Antediluvian shows up, it will be like the Ravnos Antediluvian - IE we will be fucked.
Looks like a raid healing potion foumtain
I didn't say anything about a UV light. A couple megatons of thermonuclear 'fuck off' will vaporize them just as readily as anything else it hits.

And we wonder why the Aliens don't want to meet us.
