Uh, I don't think you know what I was talking about.
I assumed you were talking about the Maul game since you said "Ea isnt writing it". EA is in charge of Fallen Order so I dont know where youre getting that from. EA hasnt had a good narrative driven game in years. I'm judging their writing abilities on their recent track record as a whole which is basically one big dumpster fire.
EA are just the publishers.
Mass Effect is already a hugely popular franchise. Making a shitty RPG game is more in line with the mass effect series than the recent Star Wars games. I assume EA wanted to start with a generic FPS with casual focuses gameplay so they could hit a wider market. Plus they wanted to get the game out before the release of Ep. 7, which is why Battlefront 3 was so horribly gimped and content-less. Now that Star Wars as an EA franchise is reasonably profitable, theyll start branching out and developing more targeted and niche games, like RPG's and adventure games.
Yea like I said, EA has a sole contract for development and publishing rights. Everything EA does for Star Wars is in-house. Hell, even shitty mobile games are made by EA.
