Scarjo has a bit of a history of either being hypocritical or not thinking any of her statements through, and for picking roles she is blatantly unfit for.
People are less and less likely to tolerate this sort of bullshit, which is going hand in hand with the increased scrutiny of actors overall since allegations of abuse of various kinds have risen and been looked into far more than they used to be.

It's probably a reference to the Ghost in the Shell casting. People threw a shitfit even though the creator of the manga was happy with the casting.
Basically she's one of those actors who put up the usual cookie cutter philantropy gigs but simultaneously act completely opposite to what they say.
She notably:
Joined a charity which boycotted Israeli settlements on the west bank and simultaneously did the promo of a product built in those same settlements (she left the charity)
Complained about unrealistic beauty standards pushed by magazines while basically doing her best to embody that same beauty standard
Tried on several occasions to promote diversity while also playing into hollywood's whitewashing by picking roles not suited for her
tbqh I don't really care what the creator of the manga thinks. You pay an author several million in royalties and they'll be happy to have their scifi series turned into a romantic comedy starring owen wilson, the rock, and betty white
