Yeah, the statement was pretty much just a zinger. Sorry about that, it's probably not the best thing to say in this scenario.
I'm actually quite sympathetic to how many people are ending up in hospital, or worse. The numbers look really dramatic, and I'm aware that there indeed were lives lost to the rain and shit. Had a friend in the country at the time, however he hadn't spoken once about it :/
My point, ultimately, was merely that labelling a lack of air conditioning as "especially fucked up" is borderline dumb
Consider that high temperature records are being broken around the world, some that've stood for a century, it's nearly directly caused by it.
The planet is heating up. Weather is going to become more extreme: summers will be hotter, winters will be colder (except where it needs to be, like the melting Arctic), storms will become exponentially more savage.
But remember we can't do anything about it because it'd harm corporate profits.
Always keep in mind the scorpion and the frog. It's quite rare that a corporate leader is a decent person. Immorality is good for business.
Uhhh, it's not, though? Grats on working in a hot room but 65 Japanese citizens died, with 23,000 more hospitalized because of the heat. It's "especially fucked up" that children don't have a comfortable, safe school environment to study in without fear of heat stroke. Your personal heat aptitude doesn't change that people are dying.
Here, this entire summer it's been rainy as fuck, only broke above 30 degrees on a few days before it gets all rainy again
i got soaked twice today
Can't we just put a giant block of ice in the artic and be done with it?

Sometimes I wonder when I get 90 degree heat back to back I wonder if there are places just chilling at a reasonable 79. Stay cool out there Japan. Heat's a bitch.
