The more people waste the worse the problem becomes Side effect of capitalism here; Retail stores will throw out entire gallons of water because of a torn sticker, or boxes of food because of a squished side. The contents are literally flawless, but the product is 'unsellable'
Why do you think we're breeding livestock, just for funsies? To support the billions of people on the earth with food sources. With our current consumption there are too many humans for the earth to support them long term. We're talking about too sides of the same coin here. If we didn't have such an enormous number of people on the planet, our per capital consumption wouldn't be problematic. If we didn't have such inefficient consumption, our huge population numbers wouldn't be problematic. You've chosen a really weird semantic hill to die on because it's completely arbitrary to say that our consumption is the excessive part while our population numbers are fine. Both factors are demonstrably shite for the environment.
You misunderstood me. I'm saying we don't need livestock agriculture if we don't consume animal products in such large quantities, therefore reducing deforestation.
Strangely uranus is probably the best habitable gas giant we have due to its surprisingly thick atmosphere compared to saturn or jupiter (1/3 of our own), low-ish winds and similar gravity to earths. Another thing is the troposphere is only about -70 degrees C and the pressure is just about the same as earths in this range as well! With all the carbon content there might even be microbes!
i knew i got that virus from uranus
