I can see from the little they shown, but I wouldn't mind a Fallout themed Rust clone with some extra gimmicks added in. Hopefully we will know if its a rust clone by the 11th when they show it at quakecon
This will be the last official Fallout until 2026 at the earliest.
From what I saw from the gameplay at E3 it looked just like FO4.
Yeah, I don't believe that at all, Bethseda Game Studios is now 3 studios, and Bethesda the publisher, has plently, I bet they have an RPG( you know, an FPS with perks, just like FO4) being made by someone in their studios right as we speak.
I hope you're right.
I don't know, maybe the shooting looks the same? But the entire gameplay loop seems pretty different. Or rather, stripped down to it's core essence as to not resemble anything to do with Fallout. From what we've seen so far, we're going to be offered very bare bones exploration and gunplay to pad out the act of propping up settlements and interacting with other players. Fallout 4 at least had a narrative drive to it. With nothing to do but grind and fuck with other players, I very much doubt Fo76 is going to resemble Fo4 much in gameplay, apart from on a very superficial level.
They seem to have brought back skills.
Stuff like that is what I would call a superficial addition when the entire gameplay direction is now based around what looks to be fairly flimsy player interaction. You said you didn't get people comparing it to Rust, and it's probably because you're looking at the games mechanics far too literally. People compare it to Rust due to a focus on basebuilding and player interaction, with the end-game literally being the ability to fuck over other players to gather resources to fuck them over even harder. Even if they brought back all the RPG mechanics from 3/NV, the core gameplay loop and raw experience of the product will still never resemble an actual Fallout title. Even without playing it I feel fairly confident in saying that. They made no real attempt to organically bridge a Fallout title to multiplayer mechanics.
I don't see the problem, I'll just play it less often due availability (Since i'm always on steam), and i'm sure (I hope so) that it will cost lesser than 40$
