I"ve struggled with suicidal thoughts quite a bit in my life, but I can not legitimately understand what goes through the head of people who want to take others with them in addition to ending themselves. Even if you truly feel you'd be better off dead, why would you want to also jeopardize the lives of other people who might not be having such a shit time?
how about he was clearly struggling with intense mental illness and rather than just bandwagoning "what a retard! I'm glad he died!" we could more constructively point out that mental health care in the US is fucking garbage and had it been better and more accessible that this wouldn't have happened Like honestly what's the point of being so angry with the guy when it's clearly the fault of our nation being shit. No sane person drives the wrong way on the highway. Seriously Shit like this is just pointlessly spiteful.
Sorry, once you commit murder on your way out you are just a piece of shit. You're right depression is a disease, but it doesn't make you wake up one morning and drive your fucking car into a minivan. I feel for all the families involve, but piss on on him.
Oh man, I started watching his videos after he died and found out a few videos in. It was a similar situation though iirc, he was drunk and tried to outrun a train with three of his mates in the car.
Its always "if we had better mental health programs this wouldnt happen" with you people. Thats not a sure way to stop crazy people. That fucker who shot up all those people in Las Vegas had no signs of being crazy yet he did it. Yes it can help, but it will not ever, ever stop all crazy people. Anyone who wants to kill other people probably wont take advantage of programs anyways.
Do we usually pity school shooters who kill themselves after the fact? If not, why should we pity a murderer who voluntarily killed two innocents on his way out?
The idea that "some people are just crazy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" is stupid. Straight up. Of course there isn't a reasonable explanation for what he did. He was not in a reasonable state of mind and hadn't been for months. He was mentally ill. That does NOT mean he could not have been helped. That does NOT mean this could not have been prevented. "Yes it can help, but it will not ever, ever stop all crazy people." This is as idiotic as the common arguments against gun control. It probably won't stop every incident ever so we shouldn't bother improving the system? Obviously not because that's fucking stupid. The mental health care system in the US is fucked and even if it doesn't stop EVERY incident, it'll still help. Have any of you heard of the 5150 in California? It's something that affects me, and this happened in California so it's extra relevant. Gist of it is that if a health care professional determines you might be a danger to yourself (i.e. suicidal), they will lock you up in a mental hospital. I attempted suicide many years ago and was locked up against my will. It was one of the worst experiences in my life. It was a glorified juvenile hall. I didn't even really get mental health care, which is the entire purpose behind the damn thing. I got to see a doctor once in the five days I was locked up. I also only got to go outside once the entire time. Shockingly, being trapped in a small building with low ceilings and dimly lit rooms for days at a time when I was suicidal did not help my mental health. Nevermind the fact that the people who are suicidal are locked up alongside the same people who are homicidal. Being in there with gang members was just a fun bonus to it all. That's the real, honest to goodness state of mental health care in the US. We've barely progressed past the days people were locked up in asylums like pariahs. I will never, ever again in my life seek out help for being suicidal no matter how bad it gets because of this fucked up system. But no, let's just say "anyone who wants to kill other people probably wont take advantage of programs anyways" and call it a day rather than trying to incite some actual positive change. Your guy's kind of thinking is why the 5150 exists in the first place.
I never said we shouldnt bother. Im all for better gun regulations and mental health programs. Even if it just stops just one person from committing an act of violence/suicide then its worth it. But its still the simple fact that its not going to stop everyone. There will always be someone that do it.
What a cunt, has a shitty YouTube channel, clickbaity garbage, shows off his new car, then pulls this. He's lucky he died really, it's the easiest way he could get away with this.
ok what is your point
bro he murdered a 12 year old
Just because people disagree with you doesn't mean the forum is a hivemind. How about instead of crying, you actually defend your position.
Fucking hivemind, lol. Maybe just take a break from the computer instead of being a baby because people don't agree with you.
oh good lord cry me a fuckin rivier. I agree with you that our country needs vastly improved mental health care but this incident is just not the place for you to die on this hill. The fact that he killed innocent people who had nothing to do with his suicide kills just about any chance I had for sympathy. If you're gonna win people over for taking mental health seriously, playing sympathic for a man's selfish last stand is not going to help you.
bye LOL
I'm sorry that not everyone on this forum has the same opinion as you, crybaby.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out lol.
People disagree with you on a forum discussion, boo hoo. These people are disagreeing with what you say because regardless of what people say to defend him because "he's mentally ill", he went out of his way to harm people, injuring 8 and killing 2. Mental illnesses do not excuse your actions.
>We will all miss you. You changed a lot of people’s lives, and I owe you for getting me through dark times. I don’t know what else to say, yeah and now the fucken dumb cunt changed even more lives
I wish mcskillet killed me so I didn't have to read breadmin's posts.
Sure, we need much, much better programs and societal reactions to mental illness. Sure, "some people are just crazy" is dumb, and this could have been prevented. But there's still a point where you actively come up with a plan to kill someone when people are allowed to call you an asshole. Was it 100% his conscious choice? No, there was clearly at least one mental illness affecting him. But while "some people are just crazy" is an oversimplification: some people ARE just assholes. To say otherwise is naive. If he had been going down a normal road at close to reasonable speeds, then suddenly sped up to hit a truck or something, I would understand. In that instantaneous moment where that feeling of death and nothingness comes over you, and you have that quick thought of "if I just hit that car right there, I'd probably die and I could end this shit", it takes a second to remember "oh yeah, there's a person in that car". Not much time at all to remember something so important, obviously, but in a split second decision affected by mental illness, a second can be too late. This was not a normal road. This was a highway. With a partition. And going over 100 mph down the wrong way. And it's likely he was also behind the school gate thing. So he had been recklessly driving for a while. At least half an hour? He planned this out. He actively decided to kill someone. And sure, mental health in this country is shit, but it's not nonexistent. If you can afford a McLaren, you can afford to see a therapist.
There are probably people in this thread who have been diagnosed with depression. Their first thoughts aren't to hop in their car and kill themselves while endangering other people. I don't know why people see depression as this “Get out of jail free card”. This seems like a classic case of rich kid who is too egotistical to get help (which even privately shouldn't be an issue for him if he owns a Mclaren), and after it had eaten away at him for a duration of time without him getting any help, he snapped. No offence, but there is no one else to blame for this situation but him. He chose to drive the car recklessly instead of getting help, so depression doesn't remotely justify his actions. Especially since he killed innocent people in the process.
Well, this dudes life is over.
So how are you educated to talk down to us in opposition, then, if we're not educated to talk down to you? I've tried to kill myself three times, consciously, and unconsciously attempted suicidal behavior countless other times. Still hasn't made me blitz an elementary school and then go down a freeway the wrong way and take out a preteen and her mother, so, I dunno about you, cowpoke, but this guy is a sure fire shithead to me.
He's dead, Jim.
Wrong. He took the highway to hell. His life is literally over.
I suffer from severe bi polar disorder and sometimes if I'm having a bad day I can snap and it's hard to control my actions. Obviously I've gotten better at controlling it. But that could be something to consider in cases like this. Sometimes people just snap :/ I'm not excusing him for what he did though. It's really shitty that two people had to die because he snapped/did suicide.
Burn in hell you piece of shit
When it actually happened, it was a lot more kind about it though, regardless of their differences. Anyone that brought up the 'report on their death' quote on twitter was blocked
You know as I read about this dude's murder-suicide I didn't except it to be out-yikes'd by a post
